a great video.... i just had to share. :)

to begin, i would like to take a moment to remember one of the greatest lines from a recent madlib titled "my most embarrassing moment".

"...but when i went to grab his balls, i jabbed him in the armpit with my butthole and broke a fingernail..."

I just started getting some of my photos out that I remaster...Now remember, I didn't take most of them, but I just spruced them up a bit.

"Once I spoke the language of the flowers,
Once I understood each word the caterpillar said,
Once I smiled in secret at the gossip of the starlings,
And shared a conversation with the housefly in my bed.
Once I heard and answered all the questions of the crickets,
And joined the crying of each falling dying flake of snow,
Once I spoke the language of the flowers. . . .
How did it go? How did it go? "
Shel Silverstein

I live for poetry. Not because it holds its own beauty, but because it speaks truth in the deepest of lies. It gives inspiration in the worst moment doubt. It speaks the loudest when tempted by silence. Poetry lives our emotions and plays out our fantasy. When it seems as though there is no escape, poetry is there to set us free. Like Arthur William Edgar O'Shaughnessy said:

"We are the music-makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:"

If you are still reading, then I explain myself:

"One reads poetry because he is a member of the human race and the human race is filled with passion! Medicine, Law, Banking-these are necessary to sustain life-but poetry, romance, love, beauty! These are what we stay alive for. I read from Whitman. Oh me, Oh life of the questions of these recurring. OF the endless trains of the faithless of cities filled with the foolish... skipping... What good amid these O me, O life? Answer: That you are here-That life exists and identity That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse." Incredible. Poetry is rapture, lads. Without it we are doomed. What will your verse be?"
Dead Poets Society

I quote this because it is true. Our lives are based- for some knowingly, but for many, unknowingly- on poetry. We live for that hope... that dream. Hoping that dream one day becomes reality. Soak it in...for I have only just begun.

Since I have started over with this page, I should change the rest to fit me as well. At 19, I can barely begin to describe what life is like in the real world. Only recently did I really begin to live on my own, and at that I still truly don’t depend 100% on myself. But college seems to have that effect on most people. I am ignorant to the way the world is outside of what I like to call my bubble or my known territory. I couldn’t tell you what it is like to struggle to pay rent or what it is like to wake up every morning and flag down a taxi or take a bus to work. I couldn’t even begin to describe to you how feels to scrounge for every last cent in the house to buy food after the bills were paid. No, I can’t answer these questions or put myself in the position to voice my opinion about them because I have never been dealt these problems…yet. But what I can tell you from experience is how it feels to balance work and school and still have time to study. I can stand firmly on telling you that although I am not entirely by myself, I have to depend on myself as though I was. But just because the date on my birth certificate says that I am 18, that does not mean my mind is that of an 18 year old. I loved with all my heart; I have hurt all the same. I have witnessed the birth of a new life. I have buried the remains of another. I have laughed with the company of happiness. I have cried in the fears of loneliness. But like most my age, they have all trudged through things of this sort.

So you are probably thinking, “Then what is it that makes you different from the rest?” My answer? Simple. It is not what experiences I go through that make me who I am, it is how my actions effected not only me but the world around me that makes different. In a world where everyone wants to sit, you must stand. Whether it is standing up for your little brother, standing up for your country, or standing up for God, we all need to stand for what believe in. But still I have yet to explain how my actions make me stand out…I have written this before and this seems like the PERFECT time to revive its message.

Face it...I'm not your typical girl, so don't treat me like one. If you would stop and take a minute to notice....there's quite more to the iceberg. I'm laid back at times, but you'll never find me without energy (unless you put me on Maxalt...), my roots run deep in writing and English literature (that would be plays, poetry, etc. for those who don't know what that is), I don't get offended (seriously...if you can't take something in the way it was meant to be taken, then you shouldn't bother hearing it. Stuff doesn't bother me like that), I am very straight forward (basically, I am not going to sugar-coat it for you), I take advantage (not for granted) of life (If you can't enjoy it, then what are you living for?), and most importantly...I find the brighter side in EVERYTHING...never will you see me upset for more than a moment...and those moments...are the ones that make happiness as blissful as it is for me. I always have a different way of looking at things, and yes, I like to think rather than talk. It’s amazing what is said when you don’t speak. I am anything but predictable, so don’t try to figure out how I am going to react, because I guarantee you that my reaction will surprise you more than the action that caused it.
I hate it when people hang out with me a few days, and instantly assume that they know me...Congrats. You probably know what...one side of me? Probably the fun, perky, upbeat, happy-go-lucky side? (Which is what half the world sees when they first meet me because I find it to be quite a nice impression.) How about this....If you can answer what my main goal (other than to serve God) is, and why it is my main goal, then you have barely gotten under the surface to the real me. Which not many people stick around to do. If you would only realize that there is so much more to a person than just their outside, then my life would be much calmer.
I guarantee that you will hardly ever find me thinking of myself...venting does not count because that doesn't even add up to 10 minutes in a week! Ever wonder what I do in my spare time, and why it’s hard to find me? If you stopped and listened to me more often, you would know. I'm just saying that I wish people would realize that there is more to me than meets the eye. You have to actually try to be interested, because I'm not going to leave the front door to my life open....You have to actually walk up and knock...and then enter. I'm not a flyer....I'm a book. Just like everyone else...but you can't skim a book and know the passion in it...,br I’d much rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.

Most will tell you that if life gives them lemons, they will make lemonade…But I say that if life were to give me lemons, I would make grape juice then sit back and let the world wonder how I did it. I fall yes, but I have yet to not pick myself up and continue to walk on with my head high, chest out, and my back straight. I am proud of who I am. I am proud of the life I have lived so far. And although I am only 19, in mind and soul I am forever timeless.

I HAVE FOUND THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. HIS NAME? MATTHEW LEE GREENE. WOULD I GIVE ANYTHING FOR HIM? YES.Gansta Happy Feet Remix
