As the dust begins to settle on a nearly total transformation of the music industry, indie artists around the world have the means to produce commercial quality recordings from their own modest home studios. Musicians collaborate across great distances with ease and find their global audience with the click of mouse.
Empowered by this new musical revolution, the minds behind Jill Spilled Scotch are taking the virtual band concept to a new level by inviting their fans to participate in the making of their debut alternative rock album, "Arrows".
On www.jillspilledscotch.com, fans can preview and buy tracks from the album before the entire album is finished. They are invited to hear demos of upcoming songs to be recorded and even help choose which songs they feel the band should include on the album and which songs they should record next.
Bandmembers blog regularly during the writing and recording of the tunes, explaining the origins of the songs and giving and inside look into the production process. Fans can comment on blogs and share their thoughts and ideas directly with Jill Spilled Scotch.
