Milk Roar

About Me

Milk Roar formed late 2007 around the ideas of Diary (see top friends link) stalwarts Nick Rowan and Tonal D. With Diary in a hibernation zone a new avenue for creative juice to dribble down was suddenly required. The guitar wielding duo called upon the services of Ande 'Ming The Mong' Clarke a long time Diary fan who had previously been invited on stage with them to joyously splutter along to his favorite Diary song 'Season Ticket' at the Diary 10th birthday bash. Needing to house a bulging carry bag of throw away lines he eagerly joined the said duo to mumble (and grumble) along. An afternoon of tea and biscuits, custard creams and digestives as I recall, an antique cassette recorder, much discussion about the price of picture frames at car-boot sales and some furious not plugged into anything electric guitar thrashing from said duo in Balham later and this new outlet for erm... creative juices to dribble down was open for business. A short list was scribbled up and the top two, Richard (unto) Ward was tempted from his world of Gimp bashing and Adam 'Brown Dog Jonez' enticed from his sonic kennel to make up the group. Mia Ward (4 years old) was consulted for the band name and Milk Roar it was, no arguments or questions asked. A few rehearsals (yes rehearsals), a shambolic Christmas gig at The Bull & Gate, in London, and some very generous downtime in a top recording studio courtesy of a friend of a friend of a friend later and........'The Hanging Basket Of Babylon' LP emerged. The track 'London Look 2007/8' was released on a separate compact disc as a single along with various remixes which included versions by Scanner, Duke Spook and NOW. Graham 'May Be Relation To Michael' Eavis (Cesspit Rebels, Squirrel Versus Weasel) joined the group in early 2009 to replace the US bound Adam 'Brown Dog Jonez' Leach. Please do keep up with Mr Jonez's progress across the pond via the Brown Dog Jonez link in our top friends. We all wish him the very best of course and ask only of him that should he bump into Sting while he's out there just to make sure it bloody hurts.
