Amancio D’Silva

About Me

Amancio D'Silva was a guitarist from Goa in India who settled in England with his wife and three children in the mid/late 60's, cutting four albums for EMI beofre the decade was out, one of tehse being the now legendary Hum Dono with the equally legendary Joe Harriott, and one more soon after, as well as featuring on the albums of Ghanaian drummer icon Guy Warren, George Dorado, Clem Alford and Wout Steenhuis amongst other notable sessions. His music and playing speaks for itself and always did, and more of it will be added and rotated, not only from the better known re-releases...but also from other recordings, of which there are very many, studio and live, with varied line-ups...some more western, some more eastern, with regard instrumentation. The hope is to be able to bring the interested listener news of forthcomming releases "from the vaults" and re-releases, as they emerge. And to get feedback on previwed tracks here. For way more information on the recordings etc. check the official website. Cheers, hope you enjoy. Some of the above albums, Integration and Konkan Dance, are available from Amazon and 7 digital download amongst others.
