A friend of his, who was also a street team promoter for D.W.E Records, personally submitted a demo to the company’s C.E.O. After hearing his demo and live freestyling over instrumentals Dewayne MD quickly started working “J†to develop him as an artist. His first taste of limelight came when he was featured on two songs off the Mr. Redd mixed cd title†Get Em Boyâ€. The buzz from those features with label mate and numerous shows across the state of Texas as a member of the “DWE Clik†produced a large following for the future star.
