Andy Bunn, the original Rumble promoter started the Drum & Bass night 'Rumble' in 1997 at the waterfront with headline DJ Kenny Ken. Rumble was the first Drum & Bass event in Norwich, at the time the drum & bass scene was almost non existent. Rumble continued at the Waterfront for another year playing to packed crowds of eager junglists raving to the likes of Randal and DJ SS. In 1999, Rumble moved to the 1500 capacity UEA due to a series of sell out events, the first of which featured Fabio and Grooverider.
These early UEA shows really showed what rumble could do! Not just with the DJs and MCs, but with the decor, inflatables and sound and lighting-a now trade mark of Rumble events. The following years took Rumble back to the waterfront for the start of Rumble allnighters with events in Ipswich headlining Roni Size and most recently Tiffanys, the legendary home of Dance Pradise now knon as Atlantis Arena in Great Yarmouth. Rumble also started a series of underground parties with a small capacity at a back street venue called 'Fat Pauly's'. To this day all the DJs and MCs comment on what a great little club this was (If a little hot!).
In 2002 Rumble teamed up with Pams House for a New Years Eve event at the Norwich Sports Village, a massive 3000 capacity dome in the outskirts of Norwich. The event was a massive success leading to two more collaborations with two of the regions biggest promoters. New Years Eve 2003, again, was another great success which lead to an even more ambitious project. Rumble continued the last few parties at the Waterfront before leaving to concentrate on the massive Summerfest.
Summerfest took place in the summer of 2004, a huge dance music festival covering every style of dance music. Rumble took the main hanger at the Norfolk Showground and rammed it to capacity with 2500 Drum & Bass heads. One of the highlights of the night was the legendary Ratpack playing a Jungle set. After Summerfest, Rumble gave up the Waterfront after many years of featuring most of the Drum & Bass scene's biggest DJs and MCs. Sensing the scene had gone a little flat, Rumble promoter Andy Bunn finished Rumble events for two years until a new and more exciting venue became available.
2006 saw the first Rumble event in two years at Lava Norwich. Now, in 2007, Rumble are well and truly back putting on the best Drum & Bass events possible using the best up and coming talent with renound big hitters and as always, with the trademark Rumble sound system.
