After all the flapper is not as bad
as she is painted~and some of them
aren't painted so bad at that.

Above is the definition of the flapper, published in the very first issue of The Flapper, 1922. It is just as true today as it was then. The flapper is with us to stay. Those croakers who predicted that the flapper would disappear with the change of style have had the dismal prophecy flung back in their faces.
The flapper is a human being, not a skirt or a mode of hair-dressing. Changes of style are merely a reflection of her tantalizing, ever-varying personality, and therefore furnish part, and only part, of her chief charm....but Flappers will be flappers, and Flapper style will prevail!
