About Me

Hello and Welcome to our Flapper Flock! This is Nicolette and Chantel- your hostesses. Come, girls, and stop your pouting
There's fun galore in this club that's sprouting
Bob your hair and roll your sox
And say "Toot! Toot!" to all the knocks.
Newsflash! Our on-line store is up in full swing- vintage clothing and handmade garters- on Etsy.com, an easy to use forum for shopping. Please visit Flapper Flock on Etsy.com by clicking on the logo below and check back often as we add more and more flapper goodies for you to buy:

Not for Old Fogies!
More About Us:
"Flapper flocks are all the rage! In almost every hamlet, town, and village in the country girls are getting together, talking about organizing, planning to unite for good times and to put the "reformers" forever on the run. More power to you, flappers!"
(From The Flapper magazine No.2, June 1922)
And the Flapper is Still With Us!
After all the flapper is not as bad
as she is painted~and some of them
aren't painted so bad at that.
"She's independent, full of grace,
a pleasing form, a pretty face;
is often saucy, also pert,
and doesn't think it wrong to flirt;
knows what she wants and gets it, too;
receives the homage that's her due;
her love is warm, her hate is blue,
for she can laugh and she can weep;
but she is true as true can be,
her will's unchained, her soul is free;
she charms the young, she jars the old,
within her beats a heart of gold;
she furnishes the spice of life-
and makes some man a darn good wife!"
~
Above is the definition of the flapper, published in the very first issue of The Flapper, 1922. It is just as true today as it was then. The flapper is with us to stay. Those croakers who predicted that the flapper would disappear with the change of style have had the dismal prophecy flung back in their faces.
The flapper is a human being, not a skirt or a mode of hair-dressing. Changes of style are merely a reflection of her tantalizing, ever-varying personality, and therefore furnish part, and only part, of her chief charm....but Flappers will be flappers, and Flapper style will prevail! (excerpts from The Flapper magazine No.7, November 1922)
