*********MISSION STATEMENT*********
Who are we? We’re a collective. A pack. A pride. We’re a group of people from Cleveland working on this grass roots effort to create a monthly event - A party where everyone in town can say, “Oh! It’s the third Saturday of the month! I’m going to the Sac again!†A lot of us are rabid HRW attendees, and are inspired by the spirit and camaraderie of the event. We’re trying to bring a little bit of that to Cleveland, Ohio.
Most of us are involved somehow in music, art, performing – some of us are musicians, some artists, all of us are passionate about treating acts well and being ethical.
We work our butts off to promote shows so that you have people to play to. Doing this on a shoestring makes us VERY resourceful (and grateful for the internet!) Whatever you can do to help us out – email blasts, myspace / facebook bulletins, flyers – we greatly appreciate.
It’s a leap of faith, we know, for some of you to drive to a town you might not have been to, and to work with people you probably never met before (that’s us!). We’d like to tell you what we promise you:
• You will get paid in cash the night of the show. No hemming, no hawing, no hassles. This one seems like a no-brainer to us, but we figured it was worth saying.
• You will work with a professional sound man.
• There is a jukebox at the Sac. If you want to put your cd in it, send it to us ahead of time and we’ll get it loaded in there, or give us one when you’re in town.
We want you to have a positive, fun experience here in Cleveland. No drama, no angst, just a night of good music, and fun.
ABOUT THE SACHSENHEIM (a.k.a. The Sac):
111 year old ballroom, dance hall, solarium, biergarten and bierstube - all in one place! Free parking, live entertainment, monthly events. Open to the public for the first time ever in 2006. Catering and hall rentals available.
"THE SACHSENHEIM: German for "Saxon Home," The Sachsenheim is an incredible, three-story edifice located at 7001 Dension Avenue in Cleveland. An incredibly historic building, The Sachsenheim was built and administrated about a hundred years ago by the Alliance of Transylvanian Saxons, who erected a combo auditorium/meeting place/dining/music performance/assembly facility with a bunch of rooms, large and small, kind of in the style of what has become Cleveland's Beachland Ballroom. Plenty of fenced-in parking is available. Large parking lots to accommodate overflow parking are located right next door. The grounds feature a fenced-in Biergarten, shaded by elegant sycamores. A network of partially-backfilled catacombs constitutes the lower levels of the Sachsenheim's basement, which served as a remarkably well-appointed speakeasy during the Prohibition era."
7001 Denison Ave. Cleveland, OH 44102.
