About Me

Guitarist Cole Doering has been a well known instrumentalist in the Eau Claire rock scene for years. Without a doubt a dedicated partner to the six-string. It all started in late March 2004, Cole was hired to play lead guitar for the rock cover band Big Deeks. They had gig dates coming up and were booked to play Rock Fest in Cadott, WI that summer. He learned their material, over 30 songs in less than a week, and played his first gig. They ended up playing regular around western Wisconsin and in mid July played Rock Fest. There Cole got to share the stage with legendary musicians Y&T, Saliva, Tesla, Twisted Sister and Judas Priest. He quickly became known and loved by the fans for his hair band looks and blistering 80’s style guitar playing. Cole spent two days playing Rock Fest in the beer tents and before playing the Main Stage, got to spend time backstage and got to meet guitarist Frank Hannon and vocalist Jeff Keith from the band Tesla. After touring with the Big Deeks for a year Cole left the band to pursue a solo career. He started the power trio E.C.Gunz where Cole was the only guitarist and lead vocalist. This band became largely a studio effort where he used it to promote his instrumental material and allowed his guitar playing to take center stage. Dubbed the "Lethal Licks Tour" he played the bar and club circuit from 2005 into 2006. In March 2006 Cole was contacted by the rock cover band Contradiction, whose lead guitarist was leaving to go back to school. They had gotten his number from guitarist Mike "the hammer" Shuttleworth who they had originally contacted to fill the role of lead guitarist. Due to scheduling conflicts Mike could not take the gig but recently had gotten a CD of Cole’s instrumental material. Mike had known Cole for years previously and told the Contradiction boys that he was the man for the job. Cole tried out for the band and was a natural fit, the group was able to gel very quickly and continued to play without skipping a beat. Since then Cole has been playing the western Wisconsin club circuit to capacity crowds night after night and has earned a place with fans as one of western Wisconsin’s premiere Metal guitarists.
