Hi I'm Brian Zink
I started drumming when I was 7 or 8. At 15 I took a Summer Intensive Program at TheCollective in NYC. At that point I knew I wanted to be a drummer.
I made Berklee College of Music, but I decided not to go there. What I did insted was study with some of my favorite drummers that were available to me. A three hour drive each way was my radius.

AT Drum Fantasy in 2007, I got to sit side by side, drum set by drum set, with four greats. Jason Bittner, Steve Smith, Horacio 'El negro' Hernandez, and Dave Weckl. They were called master classes, but they were more than that. dave Weckl went more than a hour over the scheduled time of the class so that every person got the private attention that dave weckl thought every student deserved. He told me I had good timing. Steve Smith, which I had met and had master classes before, told me that I had a nice-shuffle. Jason actually made my
father (not a drummer) get up and solo a little when sitting in on Jason's class. As Jason put it to the 15-20 kids in the class, if you are in this class today, you are getting up here and doing a solo.He meant it. Horacio was awesome.He had all of us JAMMING as one.
I am looking to start a RUSH tribute/Classic Rock tribute band that also has some originals. I want a fusion, funky, progressive feel with singing, not screaming.Instrumentals are cool too, but I like structure. Songs can be complictaed and still sound the same ( or close to it ) every time you play them. If you live in NY, send me a messege...
