If you're a "friend" you'll notice most of my Myspace friends here are musicians. MySpace is a great way to discover new music. I've traveled all over; checked out new venues and heard some incredible bands. I enjoy sharing new artists with friends.
I grew up in a musical family, have been singing since I was 7 yrs old. I fell in love with the musical "Annie" when I was just a wee-kid. So, you might catch me humming, whistling or singing a tune throughout the day without even knowing I'm doing it. :-) I promise it won't be "The Sun'll Come Out Tomorrow"!
I sing back-up vocals (and sometimes lead vocals) with a local classic rock cover band here in San Diego called Left4Dead (left4deadband.com) and most recently joined another band called Midnight Ramblers - A Tribute to the Rolling Stones (www.midnightramblersband.com).
It is such a thrill being on a stage and performing in front of a crowd; although I love doing it on occasion, I mostly enjoy going to other musician's shows. I have soo much appreciation for people who write lyrics and can come up with a melody to go with it. I think I have an ear for good music. My taste is very eclectic, and it's not always just about the singer either; for me, it's the experience...sound, lights, audience energy, venue, etc.
I now have a real opportunity to connect musicians with an audience in San Diego. A friend of mine opened up a new bar in November of 2007. He asked me to book live musical acts Wed nights for his bar in North Park called U31 Cocktail Lounge + Bar. I'm very passionate about music. If I can help - I will.
You may see me around town, as I often go to small venues to check out local, national and unsigned musicians. Some of my favorite places to hear music include: Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, The Casbah in Downtown SD, The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, The House of Blues in Downtown SD, Lestat's Coffee House in Normal Heights San Diego, U31 Bar + Lounge in North Park.
KPRI 102.1 Frequent Listener concerts are my fav. They host the BEST concerts in town and manage to get the most AMAZING artists to perform in small venues. But not everyone can go...you have to be "invited". If you want to be invited, go to the KPRI 102.1 website and sign-up! You'll see what I mean. ;)
