Diamond Bob & The Alley Sneakers BIO’sRobert J. Perro Sr. – “Diamond Bobâ€, Started singing at 8 years old. Bob was in a group called the Jaguars that performed at new car dealership openings in the 1950’s in NJ. From 1963 to 1966 he joined a band in High School called Lord John and The Yorkshires that won every talent show entered. After four years in the military and serving in Vietnam where he performed with visiting USO bands, Bob returned home in 1970 to raise a family of four. During a 40TH class reunion in 2006, Bob was given a picture of himself on stage performing in high school and the old journey renewed it self. Since then Bob has been tutored on the harmonica by Danny Hull (Doobie Brother’s) and with Dave Barrett’s Master Class at School of the Blues in San Jose. Bob formed Diamond Bob & The Alley Sneakers Blues band in June of 2006. Bob has written the lyrics to all the original songs performed by the band and helps with composition.
Diamond Bob’s musical taste range from B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt , Hendrix, and any good Blues music, with harmonica of course.
Steve Farrell Keyboardist from Liverpool England.On sabbatical David Wyatt Sr. (Quiet Wyatt) A keyboardist that transcends musical categories. Native to California, the thoughtful, down-to-earth musician was born into a musical legacy in the Central Valley. Growing up as the "youngest" in a family of musicians, David was exposed to and transfixed by all kinds of music. His talent was recognized early. Today, his keyboard versatility includes the worlds of pop, funk, fusion, blues, and jazz. David rose rapidly through the ranks at a young age. The private gospel music lessons as an 8-yr-old included teachers such as Johnny Salantino and Jerry Carr. At the age of 15, he joined a gospel group called THE SUPREME JUBILEES that toured from California to Texas. During college, David founded and directed one of the Central Valleys top R&B, Jazz, and Blues groups, BLACK FUR. While pursuing his career as a professional musician, David relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where he enrolled in the radio broadcasting program and was known as DJ BROTHER D on KFJC.
David has performed professionally with artists such as Isaac Hayes, Chaka Khan, Ronnie Beck, Lady Bo, Jeff Henry, and Pete Escovito, JC Smith Band, Dennis Dove, Demetrius Collins, William Barnett, and Duane Goldberg.
"Count" Diego Picetti started playing guitar at age 16 and has never had a formal lesson, his hot licks are self taught. Influenced solely by two great guitar players, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Diego founded his first band in 2000 Diego in Sacramento and received rave reviews. Diego joined Diamond Bob and the Alley Sneakers in February, 2007 and has enjoyed great popularity.
Don “The Don†Hackler. –. Don grew up in Lubbock Texas and moved to the Bay Area 20 years ago. Don is a radio and television broadcast engineer for KCSM by day and a Blues bass player at night. Don’s main influence on the bass is legendary Bay Area bass player Frank De Rose along with â€pocket style†grooves of classic Blues and Jazz recording artists. Don lends his expertise in music to help compose and arrange the bands original songs.
Don’s musical taste range from Southern Down Home Blues, Chicago Blues and New West Coast Blues.
Jeff “NotCar 24†Gordon – Started drumming at the age of 12 in 1966. The Last five years Jeff has been The Drum Sergeant of the Las Gatos – Monte Sereno Police Bagpipe and Drum corp.. Jeff has performed in Washington D.C. for Police Week. In addition, Jeff marched in the 2006 Tournament of Roses Parade (yeah . . . THAT one, five and a half miles in the pouring rain). Jeff displayed his interest to get back into drumming for a Blues band on Band Mix. This is where Diamond Bob found Jeff, made contact and a new drummer was added to our music.
Jeff’s musical taste range from Buddy Rich to Billy Gobham, Popa Chubby, Jimmy Thackery, Bonnie Raitt, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton.
