Tammie Davis
Tammie Davis, a Nashville Recording Artist, and up and coming country music star from Lincolnton, N.C., began her musical journey at the age of five when her mother purchased a piano for the family.
Tammie studied classical piano throughout her childhood and at the age of 18 was accepted into the United States Marine Corps as a Marine Musician & Pianist. Tammie completed her enlistment and received an honorable discharge from the Marines but not before she became the featured vocalist at Marine Corps Base Quantico for Marine band concerts and events. As Tammie realized her singing talents, she began to pursue it with complete focus. Upon Tammie’s discharge from the Marines, she became the lead singer for a Northern Virginia band, traveled to Nashville for a singing competition and completed a music video all in efforts to move her singing career forward.
As life began to unfold, Tammie's life changed directions and in 2005, Tammie moved to the Winston-Salem area of North Carolina. In February of 2006, something happened that would change her life as she knew it. On the very evening that Tammie joined up with an online dating service, Tammie received an e-mail from a man that would bring new direction. Immediately upon meeting Tammie, Mike Jones, Tammie’s new found love, knew that Tammie’s talents were something special and began to encourage her to pursue singing at a new and higher level.
This was no easy task since Tammie had settled into a routine that fit her and disturbing that balance required Tammie to venture into unknown territory. Tammie's resistance didn’t stop Mike’s persistence. Mike married Tammie in November of 2006. He kept encouraging her to sing and in the fall of 2007, Tammie realized that the only thing holding her back was her own self. Mike’s encouragement was just what she needed all along. In November of 2007, the Tammie Davis Band was formed and the stars started to align.
As the months passed, Tammie began to sing more and more and her vocals became better than ever. In January of 2008, Tammie lost her Father to heart and kidney failure. Tammie was close to her Father and loosing him was difficult. With Mike as her rock, Tammie pressed onward and in March of 2008, Tammie met Tim Sidden, a Nashville Producer.
With Tim as her producer and Mike by her side, Tammie recorded her first five originals in July of 2008 at Hilltop Studios in Nashville. One of the songs Tammie recorded, ‘Always And Forever’, was written fourteen years ago, by Tim, two days before his wedding. He played and sang the song to his bride during the ceremony and fourteen years later the song became the title track to Tammie’s debut EP, “Always And Forever Yoursâ€.
Nashville insiders have been quoted as saying that Tammie’s sound and songs are new and refreshing to the music industry. Some are calling Tammie and Mike the modern day “Loretta & Doo Lynnâ€. The excitement keeps building so keep your eyes and ears open as this story unfolds. This is only the beginning.
