NADIR

The band was formed by guitarist / songwriter Norbert Czetvitz. Our debut demo Requiem For A Helpless World was recorded and released in late 1996 and it was completely sold out all over the world since then. From the very beginning the quintet has been inspired by bands like Bolt Thrower, Crowbar, Entombed etc. and in our lyrics we deal with the most important issues of existence, e.g. social problems or the relation of mankind and nature.
After the release of the Requiem... demo we started to play live. After a short intermission, our line-up became complete again and then we returned to the stage. Our second studio recording, a three track promotional demo entitled Downward Trends was recorded especially for the metal magazines, underground fanzines and record labels of the world. The band’s style went through some perceptible changes since the debut: the Downward Trends demo contains more mature, more up-to-date, more dynamic stuff. These three songs also appeared on our first EP by the name of The Horror Of It All. This is the further development of the new musical direction. We returned to active live performing after the studio session. Later on the same year our song called It’s Back appeared on several compilation albums and on our debut album, Nadir as well. The album was released by Nephilim Records Hungary in September 2000. Meanwhile, several country-wide tours took place in the last years, headlined by us, featuring some other young Hungarian underground bands.
In fact, we are a really hard working band when it comes to perform. We do club gigs regularly all over Hungary and we are now playing more and more shows in the neighboring and nearby countries, too. Moreover, we opened for bands like CROWBAR, PRO-PAIN, STAMPIN’ GROUND, D.R.I., VADER, BORN FROM PAIN or NAPALM DEATH in their Hungarian gigs and also played on several summer festivals, including three appearances on the Sziget Festival, one the biggest tradtional cultural events of Europe.
Since Nephilim Records collapsed in 2001 we released our second album, Global Depressing System on our own in 2002 and the “Tenacity” CD (2005) as well. We are also looking for a new record label to bring out our forthcoming releases. We are still a young band full of ambition, preparing for the international breakthrough. As a first step, some of our songs recently appeared on several internationally distributed compilations.
A self-released split album with our friends Step On It came out in the year 2006. All the songs are available to download from the two bands' web sites while the CD was distributed for free at the live shows. Recently, we have brought out a new full length album (Those Who Bought The Rain) so watch out for it...
Az együttes, amelyet Czetvitz Norbert gitáros, dalszerzo alakított, a kezdetektol fogva az extrém, sötét hangulatú doom/death metal zene mellett kötelezte el magát. 1996–ban jelentettük meg bemutatkozó demónkat ("Requiem For A Helpless World"), amely rendkívül pozitív visszhangra talált, számos fanzine–ben olvasható ismerteto illetve interjú valamint rendszeres élo szereplés segítette a "Requiem..." demó népszerusítését. A zenekar elso szervezett országos koncertkörútjai az 1999-es kiadású "The Horror Of It All" EP-hez kapcsolódnak, s ugyanebben az idoszakban több országos terjesztésu válogatás–anyagon is szerepeltünk. Az EP–t 2000 oszén újabb hanghordozó követte – a zenekar elso teljes albuma, "Nadir" címmel, a Nephilim Records gondozásában. Ezt több önálló turné vezette fel és követte, miközben ott voltunk a legfontosabb nyári rock/metal fesztiválokon is. A Nephilim Records csodje miatt a második, "Global Depressing System" címet viselo album saját kiadásban jelent meg 2002 oszén. Az intenzív koncertezés azonban azóta sem szakadt meg: végre a Felvidékre illetve Erdélybe is eljutottunk, 2003 elso hónapjaiban a Moby Dick vendégei voltunk néhány fellépés erejéig. 2004 óta pedig olyan neves zenekarok elött volt alkalmunk fellépni itthon és a környezo országokban, mint a CROWBAR, a PRO-PAIN, a STAMPIN' GROUND, a D.R.I., a MASTER, a VADER, a KRISIUN, a BORN FROM PAIN, a NAPALM DEATH vagy a DYING FETUS.
A sok éves folyamatos, kemény munka most látszik beérni. A saját kiadásban megjelent "Tenacity"-re igen pozitív és lelkesítö visszajelzések érkeztek a hazai színtérröl, miközben beindult a külföldi korong terjesztése is. Ugyancsak már az új néven került fel az együttes a "Country Metal - I." válogatáslemezre, amelyen a "nagy falun túli" underground metal képviselöivel együtt szerepel a Nadir (a "We, The Scum Of The Earth" címu új szerzeménnyel), illetve a "BálnaVadÁszok" címmel megjelent Moby Dick tribute albumra (a Romlott rendszer nóta feldolgozásával). Nem állt le a rendszeres koncertezés sem, ennek eddigi csúcsát 2006 elején a Moby Dick 25 éves születésnapi buliján, majd a MetalMania fesztiválon (mindkettö a Petöfi Csarnokban), illetve Krisiun elözenekaraként (Kék Yuk) nagy sikerrel lezajlott fellépés jelentette. Eközben a "Tenacity" album a "Legjobb debütáló lemez" kategóriában elsõ helyen végzett a "Hungarian Metal Awards 2005" szavazáson. 2006-ban látott napvilágot a zenekar következö munkája: a négyszámos "We, The Scum Of The Earth" barátaink, a Step On It "Allschool Monster Is Coming" hat tételével együtt jelent meg split CD formájában, saját kiadásban. Az anyagot teljes egészében le lehetett töleni a két zenekar honlapjáról és a koncerteken is beszerezhetö volt – ingyen. A következö anyag, Nadir néven a második teljes album ("Those Who Bought The Rain") 2008-banelején jelent meg, terjesztése a split anyagéhoz hasonló.
