We Wont Pay to Play! is an alliance of working musicians that are against promoters and venues that make young struggling musicians sell tickets in order to do what they love , playing music. In most of these occasions the musicians cannot sell the entire required amount of tickets given to them by the promoter or club and as a consequence the musicians are forced to purchase the rest of the tickets they couldnt sell ! Musicians providing a service should be getting paid for what they do, not pay to do it. These young musicians are very hungry to play for the love of it , not the money , and these promoters are aware of their passion for music and instead of supporting it they take advantage of it. The only way to create a solution to this problem is for the bands and musicians to unite, organize and support our cause by refusing to play for these promoters until this fiasco ends.
