Miho Wada

Hi, thank you for visiting my myspace site. My name is Miho, I am a flute player lucky enough to be able to play music everyday for living, surrounded by so many inspiring lovely people around me. I am Japanese, grew up in Miyazaki, Japan and Christchurch, New Zealand, studied classical/orchestral flute in London and later trained in Cuban/Afro Cuban style of flute playing in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. In the last few years I have also been playing alto and tenor saxophones as well as singing. After been blessed with some years of performing and working with amazing amazing people and bands (like Nigel Kennedy, Ska Cubano, Sones de Oriente, members of Buena Vista Social Club, Kotumba, Sir Colin Davies... and thanks to so many more!), in 2009 I started my own band called Miho Wada & CHIQ. With a big help from my friend/bassist Colin Hunter, I have been writing and performing my original music! I am trying to collaborate my background influences together from all the places I have lived and cultures experienced. Stages are much smaller than when I play for big names, but I feel very creative and each show more precious. Please come along and be a part of it if you are in town! Thanks for tuning in.
