I'm pretty much a music fanatic. I can't play an instrument for shit but to me theres nothing like relaxing and putting on some good tunes. I'm always looking around to find stuff I haven't heard yet regardless of genre - good music is good music. Lately I've been digging into the Beatles cateloge a lot - everything after Rubber Soul is just unreal - buy them all - you won't be disappointed. Other than that mostly classic rock: Hendrix, Zeppelin, CCR, The Stones, Clapton, Petty, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 80s rock: The Cars, Journey, Mellencamp, Springsteen, Eddie Money, 90s grunge: AIC & most of Chris Cornell & Dave Grohl's stuff, Some hip-hop - pretty much mid 90s East Coast (Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z) and some West (pretty much just Dre & Snoop), Random stuff - Bob Marley, Toots & The Maytals, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Not a ton of stuff after 2000 - The Killers, Against Me, Rise Against, The Strokes, As you can tell mostly mainstream - not much local or obscure stuff but I'm always open to learning.
Man so many... All the mob movies (Godfather, Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco, A Bronx Tale), Most Tarantino (Pulp Fiction is still as bad ass as ever), Any old DeNiro or Pacino, Private Parts - of course since its Howard's movie, Most of the new Apatow movies have been great, Other random stuff that you should check out: 25th Hour (although I normally hate Spike Lee), No Country for Old Men, Juno, Across The Universe, Borat, Basketball Diaries, & GlenGary GlenRoss (coffee is for closers)
Just bought a 50" plasma which I couldn't be more psyched about, so I will become even more of a couch potato in the near future. South Park & The Office are by far my 2 favorite things on TV and really the only things I keep up with nowadays, Howard TV (Howard Stern's On Demand channel) is also phenominal and I don't think I could live without it, The Sopranos was good in the beginning but mostly sucked starting with Season 4 (fucking hated that last episode), Oz was an amazing show that never got the credit it deserved - check out the DVDs, The Simpsons before they ran out of ideas, Da Ali G Show for the 2 seasons it lasted, and 24 is (or I guess was) pretty bad ass as well. What I don't like - Pretty much all reality TV except for the stuff on VH1, MTV should be ashamed of itself, and Family Guy - so overrated its insane. Watch the Family Guy episode of South Park and that about sums it up.
I really should read way more than I do. The last thing I read was Jim Norton's book and it is hilarious. Before that it's been awhile. A book has to blow me away pretty quickly to hold my attention. Some books that have done this...
