I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a graduate of Radford University. I studied Archaeology there with a focus on Physical Anthropology. I love live music, theater *performing and experiencing on both of these first ones* reading, movies *writing, making, and watching* my fiance, her son, my dogs, (I only sort of like our cats, but the feeling is mutual) being in the outdoors, and Science Fiction. The list of my likes and loves goes on forever and includes the eclectic, from In n Out Burger, to astronomy and all points in between.Things I don't love *in fact I would go so far as to say I strongly dislike them* regret, littering, being used, using people, friends who abandon you at the point where you need them most (I dislike the situation, but I still love the friend... otherwise I'd be abandoning them... right?) people with an inflated sense of self importance, flat beer, stale cigarette smoke (the smell of an ashtray with incontinence)People who are the authority on anything you might have a passing interest in, and make you feel ignorant for wanting to know more about it. i.e. music nazis, book nazi's, movie nazi's, and my least favorite, Culture Nazi's, to name but a few) I really hate procrastinating (the only reason I do it is because it seems foolish to waste such a finely honed skill)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People I would like to meet who are no longer among the living: Jesus, Gandhi, Frank Zappa, Johnny Cash, and Joey Ramone. (to name just a few)People I'd like to meet who are still alive: Steven Spielberg, Ian Anderson, all three members of Rush, Robert Rodriguez, Tori Amos, Amy Lee, Jack Black, George Clinton, Michael Stipe, and Anne Rice. (to name just a few)Who I'd like to meet on MySpace: Friends (old and new) and anybody from the second list.

My Blog

STAR FREAKIN' TREK

There will most certainly be spoilers in this blog if you haven't seen the new Star Trek movie, or possibly the new Wolverine movie. They are the only two films I have seen in a long while, and they w...

Its that time of year again.

Well last year's Boyscout Mountain Man experience was a positive one overall, and I hope this year presents more of the same. I was supposed to have tons of good pictures last year, but I had no camer...

My living room

My house is small. I don't know the exact measurements but really small. I don't mind, because I like it. It used to be my grandparents' house, but they are not with us anymore. I live here now, there...

Not as dead as you may have heard.

So last I left you all, I was thinking that I didn't know what was wrong with me. I had had many many tests and still, nothing definitive. Those of you who were able to keep up with the last few weeks...

Where the hell is Dr. House when I need him?

So if you read my girl's comment back in February, you know that I was nearly blind... but now I see. Actually my vision is about normal for someone my age now. I had the surgery and had the blood rem...

I really think about... Sometimes

I haven't been able to write more than two words lately, but I just watched an episode of Life, and the movie Circle of Iron. Lets see where this little pop culture grocery list / zen journey leads us...

What the heck is Hollywood thinking...

So I have been trying to maintain my shpadoink after hearing that there is yet another "re-imagining" of a classic film on the way. I am not talking about Rob Zombie's Halloween, though when I heard t...
