About Me
Born January 14, 1981 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Charles Lawrence Dougherty was then, by way of his family, moved to Bluffton, South Carolina. Growing up in this small town to a working class family Charles decided to pursue sports and dabbled in not only basketball and baseball but football as well.
It wasn’t until high school that he realized music has a greater influence on his life than sports. After school his focus shifted tremendously from playing in fields to laying down lyrics in his notebooks. Throughout his personal life of moving from South Carolina to Florida and working with local artists he decided to take a risk and make a move.
After meeting someone very special to him, he found himself in Lansing, Michigan and at that point Charles realized his dedication to music and building his own studio. After working on solo demos, Chuck founded the hip-hop group Capital City’s Finest (CCF) on his own label.(lowcountry records) With the 2006 release of Capital City’s Finest- Mix-tape Volume 1, moving over 2,000 units and the of their first studio album, The World From My Front Door, CCF was a household name in the mid-michigan area in 2007. Going on to win mid-michigan local artist of they year. But as most in the "industry" know a group is hard to keep toghether.
So in january 2008 the group split and Charles went solo, but with realetive ease charles transitioned into a promising solo carrer. To date he has more than 60 shows under his belt some as small as a open-mic, to big artist such as Chamilionare, Tone-loc, Lil' Wayne, Bird Man, Rick Ross, Souljha Boy, Jeezy, Young Buck and mc breed. With the highly anticipated release of his first solo album "Potential" coming summer 2008 Charles has positioned himself to do big things this year.
