About Me

LATEST NEWS: We're back in the studio writing new material and working out some acoustic arrangements so we can do more acoustic sets this year. In fact we've just posted a demo version of a song we're putting on the next album. Its called Da (where are you now?) and it's been getting a good response from audiences at gigs - hope you like it.

As far as gigs go we're already booked for the Kenilworth Festival and working on other dates and venues - so keep an eye on this page for more info.

We were recently featured on music podcast Brumcast 132 - previously we were also on Brumcast 130 -Go Wild. Brumcast goes out on internet radio station rhubarb.com every Monday evening. Brumcast is also available on listen again from their archive.
Pics from gigs last year have now been posted in an album on here.

VIDEO - Firedaze played at The Queens Hall, Nuneaton last year and the gig was filmed. It features the line up with the three of us and Steve Bentley on bohdron - hopefully more videos from the gig will be posted here soon.

.. .. .. ..

Firedaze CD Triality is still available at a special low price at Head in Leamington Spa. Firedaze are offering the CD at a reduced rate for fans in their home town. It's even cheaper in-store at Head than on-line - £9 for 11 tracks. Bargain.
You can also buy and download individual tracks from the album from the Listening Zone (www.thelisteningzone.com)

Firedaze plays original music that fuses folk, rock and dance rhythms. After spending much of last year recording their first album the band are now really enjoying doing much more of their first love which is playing live.

Here's the Firedaze story so far......

Firedaze emerged as a gigging 3-piece in 2006. The band was set up by Steff and String. They'd previously been in UK roots rock band Dead After Dark and they were joined in the new band by fiddle player Jen.

The band's debut album Triality was recorded over the next year and released right at the end of 2007.

In early 2008 there was a further line up change with the introduction of bodhran player Steve but in mid 2009 the band reverted to the original line up. Live dates now see Firedaze on stage with catchy fiddle melodies, strong vocal performances and a driving bass and drum track. 2010 should see the release of a new Firedaze album.
Live gigs currently feature most of the songs from Triality plus an ever growing number of new songs some of which should make it to the new album. The resulting sound is still-changing, ever-fresh, and guaranteed to make you want to dance. If the fiddle and guitar don't get you, the bass and drums certainly will.

Live Testimonials

"Firedaze set my pub alive. The throbbing sounds and sheer power of the music was electric. The crowd loved them and they were talked about for days. One of the best value for money bands I have ever booked in all my 40 years as a publican."

Brian Loring (Landlord) The White Hart Inn. Ufton, Warwickshire

"Many thanks for entertaining our audience at the Tennis Club (as part of the Kenilworth Festival 2009) with your professional group of musicians. We all enjoyed the music played and the musical talent, particularly the last inspiring number!" (Fighting For Strangers)
Julie Elliott, Organiser

CD Reviews

Firedaze have "a willingness to surprise and step outside the box musically". Triality, the debut album is a "blend of choppy bass-driven rockers, folk-style harmonies, bright, melodic fiddle and a New Wave rock edge." (Rock'n'Reel magazine, January 2008).

"What a hypnotic track that was! (If Not Now When) Wouldn't sound out of place at the Moseley Folk Festival - take note organisers for next year."
Little Chris, Brumcast 130 Get Wild, Sept 09

"Firedaze recognise no boundaries of definition and clearly benefit from that view. ... hear them once and that thumping throbbing drum sequence and bass drive, enriched with rocky folk-fiddle groove will stay in your head. It’s music for dancing, music for dreaming - ... Firedaze take multiple musical threads to create a tapestry of 21st Century folk." ( www.folkwords.com , March 2008)
