Proud Mary = female acoustic blues duo - Karolina Koriat (voc) and Ola Siemieniuk (acoustic guitar, dobro guitar). We were inspired by pre-war country bluesmen, with their unpredicted movements on guitar and voice, their emotions and improvisation. Proud Mary started to perform in 2001 and carried on playing in music clubs and at blues festivals in Poland as well as Germany, Slovakia, Belarus and Czech Republic for three years. For both of us these were our first encounters with live music, performing and sharing and being in the centre of musical adventure. It was great, liberating! We had exceptional luck with teachers. Ola Siemieniuk played guitar with Blue Sounds (2004-5) and is now a member of Magda Piskorczyk's band. Karolina Koriat performs occasionally with Romek Badenski on harp.
