Quotes don't have to be accurate to be famous...

About Me

First, a quote:
"He looked blank. Not for the first time in his life, he felt that there were whole areas of human experienece that had passed him by, if areas could pass by people. Maybe he had passed them by. He shrugged."

I work as a courier, driving around all day. I like it. I'm pretty laid back and not easily flappable. I'm also not always/often to be taken seriously. Generally, if you know me, you'll know.

I spend free time wasting life with my cats, watching movies, and going to concerts. I have lots of grandiose and misguided dreams, but isn't that what life's all about? Right now, my path may lead to music production.

"Love is all a matter of timing. It's no good meeting the right person too soon or too late."
"The key to understanding of all religion is that a god's idea of amusement is Snakes and Ladders with greased rungs."

My Interests

such a broad topic...

I've recently picked my bassoon up again.
If I had the money, I'd be a patron of the arts. I would also travel the world, starting with a roadtrip around the US and Canada. I like to hike and camp, though, I never do either. That's almost a metaphor.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

I appreciate a little of just about everything. I've recently taken a taste for soul/funk. I'll always be a rocker at heart, though.

Movies:

Shaun of the Dead, 2046, Last Life in the Universe, Spy Game, 25th Hour, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Scent of a Woman, Lady in the Water, Mother Night, Shine, The Saint, Once, Half Nelson, What Dreams May Come, Benny and Joon, Bringing Out the Dead, Taxi Driver, Way of the Gun, Identity, The Machinist, Wayne's World, Beverly Hills Cop, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Fight Club, Dogma, Truth or Consequences NM, Buffalo 66, Shine, The Pianist, The Jacket, The Red Violin, The Last Unicorn, Planes Trains and Automobiles, The Ref, Suicide Kings, Uncle Buck, Alice in Wonderland, Lilo and Stitch, Shawshank Redemption, Big Fish, Swingers, Batman Begins, Unbreakable, Predator, Alien, Aliens, Batman, etc

Television:

I neither have a television, nor do I want a television.

Books:

Douglas Adams; Kurt Vonnegut; Terry Pratchett; Sideways by Rex Pickett; Chuck Palahniuk; Augusten Burroughs; Peter S. Beagle; David Sedaris; Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass; Layer Cake by J. J. Connelly; Jonathan Carroll; Neil Gaiman; Cosmic Banditos by AC Weisbecker

Heroes:

Kurt Vonnegut.

So it goes.

Rick Rubin may be a distant second.

"How strange it was to eat glass and light."

So, I am sitting at home with a cat on my lap, and I'm bored, so I figured I'd write one of these that doesn't list anything and has substance provided by me, not pictures or scans.  I can't gua...

repost from bulleting "patriotic" slogans

Ever since September 11, 2001, the phrase in the subject has been passed around as a slogan for this "War on Terrorism," the biggest oxymoron I've heard in ages. It's passed as a phrase of support, bu...
