Johannes Bickler

Johannes Bickler, italo-tedesco, cresciuto trilingue (la terza lingua è l’inglese), nasce a Milano nel 1972. Fin da piccolo ha la fortuna di ascoltare musica di tutti i generi, dalla Classica al Jazz, dalla musica lirica a quella leggera che grazie a suo padre risuonano quotidianamente in casa, prima a Milano e poi nella provincia di Varese. Il pianoforte di casa avrà presto grande importanza e come autodidatta inizia a strimpellare le prime note, sviluppando soprattutto idee melodiche proprie. A otto anni scopre la batteria ed è passione a prima vista. A quattordici anni, entra a far parte, come batterista ufficiale, della Big Band della Scuola Europea di Varese. Durante questi anni e con l’aiuto del suo insegnante di Musica farà le sue prime esperienze dal vivo con tournee nelle varie Scuole Europee di tutta Europa. Dopo la maturità, si iscrive al Centro Professione Musica di Milano, che frequenterà per 2 anni, prima di partire per il suo primo tour professionale con il cantautore emergente “Erz”.Nel 1996 visita sua sorella a Monaco (Germania) e la visita si tramuta in un soggiorno di ben 5 anni, durante i quali si dedicherà allo studio approfondito della batteria, alla scrittura di brani strumentali e cantati e alla scoperta di nuovi gusti musicali. Nel 1998 firma con la BMG/Ariola un contratto discografico insieme alla Band indie/pop “SUEZ” con la quale girerà la Germania in tournee. Dopo circa 1 anno e mezzo la vita nella Band gli diventa stretta, non potendo esprimersi a livello compositivo come vorrebbe. Lascia i SUEZ e si trasferisce per un anno a Londra, dove collaborerà con il cantautore Londinese Nick Rubin. Sarà un amico di Varese a riportarlo in Italia per far parte della Band che accompagnerà il cantautore PACIFICO al Premio Recanati, nella primavera del 2001 e con il quale suonerà per 6 anni. Continua a comporre e a scrivere, accumulando cosi un repertorio molto vasto di musiche diverse. Soprattutto strumentale ma con dei chiari connotati pop, rock e indie. Musica molto suggestiva e di notevole impatto emotivo, ingredienti che hanno sempre caratterizzato la sua musica. Attualmente sta lavorando al suo nuovo progetto JOBI4 che verrà presentato il 5 maggio alla Salumeria della Musica con la pubblicazione di un EP contenente 4 brani. A presto e buon ascolto. Johannes**************************************************** ************************************************ Johannes Bickler was born in Milan in 1972. He’s half italian, half german and grew up tri-lingual (english is his third language). Since his early age he has the privilege to listen to a lot of music at home. His father, also an artist (painter), enjoys all sorts of music: Classical, Jazz, Opera and Pop. All is played and listened to with great passion, first in their appartment in Milan and later in their new home in the province of Varese. The piano becomes soon his most precious toy with which he starts developing his own ideas and songs. At age 8 he discovers the drums and it’s passion at first-sight. A few years later he becomes the official Big Band drummer at the European School of Varese, which he attends until his Baccalaureate. It is during these years and through the help of his music teacher that he makes his first live gigs, touring to the various European Schools in Europe. After his degree he attends the famous Music School in Milan “Centro Professione Musica” for two years, before starting a national tour with a young italian Singer-Songwriter. In 1996 he goes for a trip to Munich (Germany) where he eventually is going to stay for a total of 5 years. During this period of time he gets himself down to a disciplined life, based on practising the drums, composing, playing live gigs and developing his musical knowledge and taste. In 1998 he signs a record deal with BMG/Ariola together with his band mates “SUEZ” and with them he tours around Germany. After one and a half years he decides to leave the Band beeing frustrated by too many creative compromises. He moves to London (GB) for a year where he starts playing with different local bands and Songwriters. It will be a friend from Varese to take him back to Italy, as a band member of the Songwriter PACIFICO, attending the famous italian Songwriters contest in Recanati-Macerata and as PACIFICO’s drummer he will take part at different national tours, Festivals and events since then. In the meantime he continues writing music, putting together a vast repertoire of both pop/rock/indie songs and instrumental music.He's currently working at his new project "JOBI4" which will be presented in Milan, on may 5th at the Salumeria della Musica.
