About Me

W.Gary Moser started his music training at age 5 in 1963, learning rudimentary skills on the piano. By 1976, his graduation year from High School, he still was playing piano, and also had formal training on violin, oboe, organ, and bass viol. Choir had also played a big part in his school years along with music theory and composition classes.Upon entering college, Gary's dream was to become a music teacher at the University level. He continued his classes in music theory and composition. Performing in his college choir, Gary performed in 14 states. While being classically trained, it was also during these college years Gary discovered "Rock and Roll."While never being able to complete his dream of becoming a music teacher, Gary still pursued music. From the late 70's on he played in numerous Detroit area bands as a bassist and keyboard player, or even occasional rhythm guitar. He also contributed to the strong 3 and 4 part harmonies in groups he played in. By the early 1990's Gary spent 6 years as the Bassist/keyboards in the Classic Rock band Positive I.D., and also was a gun for hire as a bass player in the Detroit Area. Shortly before leaving the Detroit area in 1999 and moving to the FLint area, Gary did brief stints with The Canada Creek Band, Slapnix, and Upper Level, a high profile wedding band. Gary's most recent band was the shortlived power trio Mr. Old Man Dude. (2005-2007) This band was fronted by Mr. Karl Caster, lead vocals and guitar. Drums and back-up vocals were by Mr. Dave Apfel, while Gary held down the duties of occasional lead vocalist, backing vocals, bassist/synth bass, and keyboards. Two songs performed by Mr. Old Man Dude are featured on Gary's playlist.Today, Gary enjoys working in his home project studio, where at age 50 he's learning how to play drums. Mr. Dave Apfel has been working alongside Gary, where they are writing together and taking on rolls they usually dont do in a band setting. Stay tuned for more music to come!A special thanx goes out to Linda and Carol, Gary's two older sisters. They were a big influence in his early years. If not for these two, hearing "live" music in the home as a youngster might not have had the influence on him as it did. The most important thanx goes to his higher power, as without him, this gift of music might not be here.
