About Me

FROM DISCO TO DISCO, TOWN AFTER TOWN . . .Born in Paris in 1978, Kevin Spicy is one of Europe's most talented and promising DJs. Passionate about music since childhood, he was initially drawn to hip-hop, soul and funk, genres he explored during the late 1980s early 1990s. It is around this time that he bought his first set of decks and started ferociously collecting records. The mid 1990s brought him to the club scene, exposing him to electronic music. Quickly his heart was hooked on house music, his talent but one step away from being shared with the public. This was easily overcome when in 2002 the Costes brothers, owners of Paris' most prestigious restaurants and clubs, recognized in Kevin Spicy an opportunity to bring a fresh yet elegant sound to their venues. They generously gave him carte blanche, allowing him to satisfy a new audience every week, and mostly, they gave a kick-start to his young DJ career. Quickly other opportunities followed; a residency at la Villa (Shame on You parties), recurrent featurings at La Locomotive, the gigantic and gicantically popular Red Light (previously l'Enfer) and probably Paris' most mythical club le Queen. Kevin Spicy never leaves and audience in expectation, if it weren't the expectation of his next appearance. At the same time funky, smooth, progressive, surprising and so sexy, this future superstar is sure to make your dancefloor well, . . . SPICY.SAN FRANCISCO GET READY TO GET DOWN.Summer of 2004 found Kevin Spicy ready for new adventures. Feeling an urge to test his tricks on the american scene, he packed his decks, some 300 records, and took off to one of the planet's most party-partaking cities, San Francisco. Still jet-lagged, the take-over of SF's party-scene begun with a friendly encounter. Kevin Spicy teamed up with fellow parisian DJ Ryme for a weekly residency at Voda, digital on saturdays, where edgy house meets heavy drinks. DJ Ryme having been active on the SF scene since the mid 1990s, he invited Kevin Spicy to be part of the LaRush collective, created by himself and Qwistar, yet another euro-imported prodigy. copyright jjscenario 2006
