About Me

I work for Charity.

Well not an actual charity, I really work for an evil corporate empire, but I get paid like a volunteer the perks include crushing the hopes and dreams of little people. However I always look forward to seeing my hopes and dreams crushed during the end of year review I have learnt that the real way to climb the corporate ladder is to eat my sandwiches faster than the other managers and type on my computer really, really fast. . I am a blur of productivity, sometimes I bash my head on the keyboard to get those extra few words per minute.

I also like photography, I dream of the moment when I capture that photo that says a thousand words,.

you know the shot that makes everyone forget about the story and say - what the hell is that freak doing?? Oooh , That's gotta hurt!

; ;

this weekend was caving or spelunking

which involved abseiling down cave waterfalls (quite challenging when you have the full force of a waterfall hitting your chest while trying not to drop yourself to your death) in the dark, and lying face down in muddy water to shuffle through narrow small openings - awesome! Generally just getting cold and wet about 100m underground. .

My New Years resolution was to climb an active volcano, so I did the Tongariro Crossing. I got up to the side of Mt Ngarahoe, but it was way too big and I didnt have a virgin to throw in as a sacrifice so I opted to climb Mt Tongariro (a previously active Volcano).

It was pretty hard core trekking - but that's what making silly resolutions when you are half cut on New Years day are all about. I also tried a bit more caving or spelunking which involved abseiling down cave waterfalls (quite challenging when you have the full force of a waterfall splashing into your chest while hoping the rope holds and not to drop you to your death) in the dark, and lying face down in muddy water to shuffle through narrow small openings - awesome! Catching my first shark

After a month long holiday fishing, diving, tramping and most importantly equal quantities of soaking up summer and drinking, I find work a woolly, hollow experience. It is alien to sit in front of a ...
