FUELED BY MATAMP DRIVEN TONE.....
When someone deemed GOMI as “Arizona’s quality grunge†the term was a perfect fit for their sound as well as influence. Drummer Sean and Guitarist/singer Mark found each other through myspace of all places and formed an alliance through their love of music. It was then that they decided to take Marks catalog of songs and bring them back to life with a new line up. Spawned from the ashes of such bands as The Atomic Hellcats and The Shirkers out of Akron OH, this grunged out band with punk undertones have found themselves once again back in the music scene, only this time based out of Phoenix AZ.
Ladies and Gentleman we bring you GOMI... This Phoenix based DUO delivers the rock with their guitar driven style of music that is heavily influenced by the many grunge and punk artists before them. Starting off as a two piece and recording a 7 song demo to help sell the sound to a bass player who could fill out their line up, the guys finally found Slade to join the line up and they released a full length cd “you bet your balls we rock†as a three piece. The newly revamped GOMI played all over Arizona for more than a year. The band opened for many local and touring acts along the way building up a base of loyal fans that are now part of the GOMI family. Early in 2009 their bass player Slade decided to further his education and had to depart from the line up. So Sean and Mark following in the footsteps of their idols LOCAL H, and THE BLACK KEYS decided to move on as a DUO.
The boys bring their sonic instrumental attack that is well balanced between Mark's comforting vocal style and driven guitar tones, and Sean's hard hitting drum attack. The combination of Marks’ soft vocal delivery and grainy harmonies leaves most humming along to his extremely catchy hooks. Holding the guitar driven rock together is the man behind the back beat. Sean's aggressive attack on the drum set shows his influences from such drummers as John Bonham, Brian St Clair, Dave Grohl and Josh Freese. The live experience lends way to the sing along anthems that the members of GOMI bring for all to hear. These guys like to play loud and it's safe to say that they bring the rock.
