Songwriter, music producer and musician Winnie Williams is most famous for his work with the dance outfit K.W.S. along with Chris King and vocalist Delroy St. Joseph. They were nominated for the Best British Newcomer award at The Brit Awards among many other accolades. They produced a cover of K.C. & The Sunshine Band's track "Please Don't Go†which was also a number one hit for them in the UK charts for 5 weeks in 1992. "Please Don't Go" was included on a number of compilation albums. The cover of the George McCrae hit "Rock Your Baby" which was also a hit in the U.K. Although he is best known for his work with K.W.S. he has also worked with a number of world class artists including Wycliffe and The Supremes. He has appeared on shows like The Wogan Show and Top of the Pops. As well as producing for other artists he is a music consultant, a skilled piano teacher and teaches music technology for the S.E.N.D. music project in Nottingham (of which he is a partner) which provides him with a unique opportunity to help to enrich the community.
His earlier work includes recording with the Extasy (Reggae/Funk), Roots (Latin/Jazz/Rock), The Aztecs (Afro/Rock), Funktion (charted act + European Tours). He was a founding member of Positive Vibes (Reggae/Rock), Far Image (2 Tone Reggae), Natural Ites and The Realisitics (Roots Reggae) and the W.K.B.C Band.
Winnie Williams has toured and recorded with a number of American Motown acts including The Supremes, Jimmy Ruffin, Edwin Starr, Major Lance, J J Barnes, Lou Ragland (guitar player for Elvis Presley), Pat Lewis (Isaac Hayes ex-wife), Al Kent, Kim Weston, Gene Chandler, The Marvellettes, Tommy Hunt and Mary Wells.
His charity work includes the "The Winnie Williams Experience" a music showcase that was broadcast on channel 4.
Currently he is setting up a company with his wife called "Hidden Treasure".
Similar to the work he does for SEND, the project works with young children of any age doing Drama workshops, creating music and providing personal tuition.
