i tend to read the guardian and sometimes the independent if its front page is 'provocative' enough. for an unknown reason i occasionally buy the sun and even to my shame the news of the world. i've mellowed as i've aged, but a section of society with which i still cannot deal is those who read the Daily Mail/MOS. as for books.....
