About Me

I'm 26 and totally in love with my two beautiful kids, ages 6 and 2, and my fiance Joe. I am a Solitary Eclectic Pagan, spiritual, but not religious. I've been a vegetarian for 15 years, going toward becoming Vegan and eventually Raw. I have worked with children for many years, and enjoy what I do. I am an advocate and activist for natural and AP parenting, homebirth, extended breastfeeding, non-circumcision, and co-sleeping. Basically I'm a "natural" parent, and I like helping others open their minds and learn what that REALLY entails.
I practice a "live and let live" life, but promote education in the process. One of the worst things in my book is CHOSEN ignorance. People should do their best to educate themselves about things they do not understand, and people should also be open to sharing their knowledge with others. It bothers me when people judge others for their honest ignorance instead of just taking the moment to educate and open the mind of that person. That being said, if anyone has questions about the things I practice, the things I enjoy, or just about the life I lead, please feel free to ask. I am the epitome of an open book. I also would love to learn the things you may have to teach.
I enjoy meeting new people of all kinds, but just an upfront note....I don't go out and party hard or drink the night away and I don't really enjoy hanging out with people who spend their lives doing ONLY that. Occasional partying is fun, but having a REAL life is much more important. I like to have substantial people in my life.
I also don't accept friend requests from people I don't already know unless you have taken the time to send me a message and actually want to know me. I am not here to be just another number on your friends list. I love to meet new people, but I when I have a friend, I like to really get to know them, and I just won't waste precious time talking to people who don't give a damn about real friendship.

I'm into natural parenting and all things baby, music, books, art in it's many forms, tattoos, piercings, concerts, movies, and hanging out with people I care about. I like to go out on occasion, but hanging out at home with my kiddos, my fiance, and my friends, playing a game or laughing about random wierdness, also completely rocks my socks. I am facinated with other cultures, Mythology, and learning about other people's perspectives in general.

MyHotComments

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet anyone that is inspired by life and can find beauty in the little things. Artists of all kinds, people who love music, people that wander this earth in search of everything and nothing all at once. Midwives, Doulas, Mothers in all forms. I love birth stories, and would love to meet people that wish to tell theirs to me. I actually just love stories in general. What is yours? Will you tell me? I love to have great conversations about everything, so if you love to talk about meaningful things, I'd like to talk with you. I'd like to meet Peggy O'Mara and pick her brain for a while, as well as Ina May Gaskin and many others involved with empowering pregnant women to have a birth, uncontrolled by anyone other than herself.

Music:

I listen to a bit of everything, although you won't hear alot of country or R&B on my iTunes. I like rock, goth, punk, alternative, some psychobilly, political music, and lots of 80's underground. I really love Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, Tool, The Horrorpops, Ministry, Social Distortion, Bauhaus, Michael Franti, The Misfits, Rage Against The Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, Sublime and The Violent Femmes, but you'll hear different stuff like Delerium, Ani DiFranco, Bob Marley, Fiona Apple, Melissa Etheridge, Morrissey, Primitive Reason, Siouxsie, Tones On Tail, Bauhaus, and even Gaudi with Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn. I'm pretty random and ecclectic, and I'm open to hearing anything new at least once or twice!

Movies:

Anything by Kevin Smith....(although Mallrats tops that list.)

The Breakfast Club and Nightmare Before Christmas top my list. Boondock Saints, House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects, Lords of Dogtown, all 3 Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Liar Liar, Hitch, All 3 Bourne movies, Tomcats, Rent, The Craft, Without A Paddle, Anger Management, Corpse Bride, Evolution, Harry Potter, the list goes on and on....

Television:

I don't really like TV other than The Discovery Channel or The History Channel.

Books:

All different kinds, I love books (ok, I'm a bit of a bookworm nerd). I adore anatomy books and books on spirituality. Midwifery books and stories of birth facinate me. I enjoy books that can transport you to other places as well and information books. Books that can teach you how to do or perfect something as well as books that let you live in another person's mind for just a while. I devoured Dharma Punx by Noah Levine, and loved every word of it. Authors I adore are: Marian Zimmer-Bradley, Anne Rice, Stephen King, Peggy O'Mara, Howard F. Lyman, Pamela Rice, yeah, the list could go on and on........I believe that knowledge is power, and that knowledge can be contained within books. So go and learn something, about yourself or another person, or just about our world in general; read a book.

Heroes:

My Mom was and is my biggest hero. All moms can inspire me, especially single moms. Survivors of tough times and people that have the courage to stand up and speak their minds are amazing to me. People who are aware of themselves and completely ok with who they are, inspire me as well.
