MUSTAFA

MUSTAFA is a French Dj and Producer who was born in Paris in 1970. He started to work as a Dj in the late eighties playing Soul, Funk and Acid- Jazz. In 1994, he moved to London and discovered the House and Garage scene and became resident of a few venues such as Bar Royale and the OBar in Soho. After two years living in London, he moved to the Canary Islands (Tenerife and Gran Canaria) to play in Clubs for the holiday season and got deeper in his knowledge of the Latin Music (Salsa, Merengue). Back in Paris in 1997, he started to work for a record company and became resident Dj in a few venues like Impala Lounge, Cafe Costes, Eurosport Cafe, Chesterfield. The big switch came in 2001 when he moved to Brazil and settled in the Favella de Vidigal in Rio de Janeiro, where he recorded his album "Mustafa-De Paris ao Vidigal", mixing Brazilian Music with different rythms like 2 step, house, Drum n Bass, RnB, Breakbeat. His music is currently played in radio stations in Brazil and his album just started to be released in Japan. A 12 '' single called Sao Salvador has recently come out through house label Agave records fetauring remixes from Demarkus Lewis and Olivier Desmet. A carreira dele comecou aos 16 anos tocando Funk, Soul e Acid Jazz nos bailes e casas noturnas parisienses. Mudou-se para Londres em 1994 onde descobriu a cena House e Garage e virou residente do bar Royale e The O'Bar no Soho. Em 1996, fez nova viagem para as Ilhas Canrias (Tenerife e Gran Canaria) para tocar em discotecas e ficar pesquisando a Musica Latina (salsa e Merengue). De Volta a Paris em 1997, trabalhou numa gravadora , alem de se tornar residente no Impala Lounge, Cafe Costes, Eurosport Cafe, Chesterfield. A grande virada aconteceu em 2001 quando chegou ao Brasil e pasou a morar na favella do Vidigal no Rio de Janeiro onde gravou o disco "Mustafa - De Paris ao Vidigal", misturando musica brasileira com 2 Step, House, Drum n Bass, Breakbeat, Rn B. Hoje, suas musicas tocam em diversas emisoras de radio do Brasil e o disco acabou de ser lancado no Japao. O single 12''(vynil) da musica Sao Salvador foi lancado a traves do Selo de House Music Agave Records nos Estados Unidos incluindo remixes do Demarkus Lewis e Olivier Desmet.
