BIO:
Carlos Vargas has been involved with House Music since 2001, thanks to a very special friend. The passion grew up and led him to further explore his passion for the music and his early career was aided by his several musical influences like Stevie Wonder, Al Jarreau, Chacka Khan, George Benson, Lee Ritenour and many more, who definatly helped him to create his own style, that travels from Soul to Disco, crossing the roots of Funky and Jazz, always supported by 4/4 beats. His popular style of music includes a broad blend of styles, using different songs to create music that flows seamlessly through the night.In 2003, alongside with the guitarist Jair Deodato , Carlos Vargas decides to create the Deep & Soul Project , a concept that would allow Dj’s to perform live with musicians. In 2004 he gets the invitation to provide Sets for the Canadian Style Network, later designed as Motion FM . His work then arrives to England, with the producer Robert Hayes inviting him to join Soul Connection, where he worked for about 2 years. With the end of Soul Connection in the end of 2006, Vargas moves to Soul Satellite where he is now, hosting a two hour live show every Monday night.
Currently he travels all around the country, promoting himself on solo and with the Deep & Soul Project live in venues like The Day After Club, Casino Figueira, Theatro Circo Caffe, Delight, TGB, Club Bahuaus, Zeitgeist Caffe, Quest Club, Freeport, Vinyl Plazza, Santiago Alquimista, Canto Vivo, Wide, Hemingway, Tazz Bar, Look Lounge, Basofias Boat Parties, Art Caffe or Quebra Club, to name a few, and in an Internacional Level at venues like Club Staff (Spain), Charterhouse, Saltwater, Stealth Club, Ride and Days Like This (England), Klub Radna (Poland)
Being one of the founders of the Deep & Soul Project, Vargas is also very involved with it in the Studio, with the record "This Light (we've seen)" going out on Gotta Keep Faith Records next January of 2009. Alongside this record, the project is also working on several more remixes and originals, to be released soon.
Although Vargas has been heard at numerous venues and events, he holds a Monthly Residency at the lounge Bar Hemingway (Marina Cascais) and Weekly at the Soulful Bar Zeitgeist Caffe (Figueira da Foz), being also responsable for dj bookings for this last one. All of this alongside with some more projects to be announced soon, makes of 2009 a very exciting year for Carlos Vargas.
