About Me

The past month my life has been rough, but I'm getting through it with the help of my family and friends. A large benign ovarian tumor led to a pulmonary embolism (not one but multiple on both my lungs), followed by poisonous spider bites. But 9 months of blood thinners should put me back in tip top shape. I graduated from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo! Now I'm working as an equine caregiver at a private animal sanctuary in Cayucos...I get to fix bandages and give injections to sick horses and burros all day...yes... I like to run into walls, couches, pretty much anything that's inanimate...and I like to trip over invisible cracks, rocks, and my own feet. Did I also mention that I do back flips off of haystacks? All these shananigans have led to broken toes, noses, fingers, and injured ankles, but what's the point of life if you don't take risks? DAVID BOWIE is my favorite, this was the most awesome concert i ever saw! Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, the Eagles, mostly classic rock, also enjoy a good blues band and country at times...i'll listen to anything really

Movies:

i like most movies...Jaws! labyrinth, anything horror or thriller, harry potter, rocky horror picture show, all mel brooks movies, prefontaine, silence of the lambs, bull durham, red dragon, lots and lots more etc...

Television:

CSI, Grey's Anatomy, Friends, House, X Files, NFL Football (Go Steelers)...other than that i don't watch much t.v.

Books:

Hemingway, Harry Potter, Patriot Games, Seabiscuit, Kiss Me Like Stranger, the Bible, Louis L'amour stories, pretty much all Stephen King novels, Thomas Harris novels, Lord of the Flies, anything about the Civil War, etc

Heroes:

my Dad and Grandmother, my niece Cami Mae because she brought me happiness and peace of mind after my medical nightmares

Update from the Doc

So I saw my hematologist yesterday for a check-up on my "condition" and he gave me good news:He's pretty positive that my bilateral pulmonary embolus were provoked (from surgery and estrogen and such)...

Good news

I got the results back from the pathology of my cyst and it's not cancerous! Yay! So even though I only have one ovary I don't have cancer and I can still have kids in the future. Yay!
