Simone McDonald, a young Christian, decided to take her gift to another level in 2001 and in 2004 produced her 1st mix tape CD - “Sonshine “. This decision also saw her performing live at “Fun in the Son” her first major live performance alongside St.Matthew.The experience was great but she did what she had to the glory of God.But who is Simone McDonald “Zeelamac”? She was born in 1984 and was reborn in 1995 washed by the blood of Jesus Christ. She has participated in several school shows from the age of 5 years and over the years has been involved with her church choir and has performed at several church functions and other social events. Then in 2002 she was encouraged by St. Matthew to go into recording. It took some persuasion, but she finally accepted the challenge and in 2004 an original CD was put together with 14 tracks all original songs. One of the more popular song on the album is “You and Me”, which is still loved by many listeners. Another set of her songs have been recorded on secular riddims and compiled on another mix tape called “Highly Favoured “which can be heard on both internet and local radio stations.Over the past years she has been led by God to enter a few competitions which attracted a more secular audience but this did not deter her from spreading the word of God even with criticism coming from the body of Christ. In August 2005 she represented for the Kingdom of God at a very popular worldwide event called “Reggae Sunspalsh “ an event that was popularly held in Jamaica to celebrate Reggae Music worldwide. :” this was an opportunity of lifetime “ she exclaimed as she was honoured to have been chosen to be apart of such an event .In December 2007 she also entered the 1st Dancehall show which was geared towards finding a King and Queen of Dancehall , she represented as one of the top 10 finalists in the set chosen for Kingston , but was voted off, she then was called back by one of the judges as a wild card where the judge had to make a final decision, She did not get a chance to continue with the competition but she represented again on National TV, to proclaim the word of God to the people as they needed to here it.Of course this was no walk over for Zeelamac, as she had her own struggles to face. She was not an ardent Christian in the early years of her walk but she became aware in dreams and visions what God had in store for her and she decided to take up the cross and follow him wholeheartedly. She used to go to parties and sessions totally forgetting about God and then she realized that she cannot continue to hide God and not represent for him.” I was living behind doors just like many other Christians today who are afraid of representing God, but I say to them if you not For God it simply means you are against him”.She doubted her ability to write her own songs but by spending much time in the word God was able to work in a way she never understood, she gives glory to God who give her the strength to go on and her zeal is a reflection of her names God has given her the drive to go on, no matter what as the word of God encourages, never be lacking in zeal but keep your spiritual fervour in the Lord, and that’s Zeelamac.Her work is no way traditional as she covers several genres of music such as reggae; R & B Dancehall just to name a few.Zeelamac a powerful woman of God aims to share her own experiences within the music as well as speak to the young women as she can relate to what they are facing in today’s society. She is currently working on a new album which is definitely one to look out for , she is also apart of a High School tour in Jamaica called Bombard which seeks to spread the gospel in the high schools.Zeelamac sees herself as following the leading of the Lord to fulfil her assigned tasks here on earth .Her love for the Lord has grown and continues to grow daily as her one desire is to please him.We look forward to great things from this zealous woman of God.object width="425" height="344" ..
