About Me

Layout by CoolChaserGreetings. This is Mark Reid a.k.a. Ashanti Reid. I was born to Mr. Revel Vivian Reid & Miss Dorothy Mundle. I am the first born son for my mother and the third son for my father. I was born in the high hills of Clarendon and grew up in the valley of the ghetto of Kingston. I've lived from Red Hills Rd. to Molynes Rd. and in the water house area where living was rough for most people. But in that time as a youthman growing up, it was kind of bitter-sweet. Music was always a part of I life from a tender age. I wrote my first song when I was seven (7) years old called "Come Back To Me". I recorded my first song when I was seventeen (17) years old called "Militant Soldiers" on the Sunset label for Myrie and Errol Marshall which unfortunately was not released. I was later introduced to Mr. Sherman of Arabic records where a did a song called "Bubbling" which was released on the Reggae Invasion Vol. LP. I've been in the music industry for most of my life. I've done talent shows in and around the inner city. My first international performance was in Canada. I migrated to the United States in the late 80's. In 2002, I met Mr Lloyd "Bull Wackies" Barnes from Link up Media, who at the time was working with Mr David "Squeeze' Annakie of Plush Records. This has given me the opportunity to work alongside various artist like Buju Banton, Chuck Fenda, Anthony Cruz, just to name a few. In 2003, I opened for Buju Banton on his Friends For Life Tour at the Palladium club in New Rochelle, New York. I am proud to say I was also under the producing of Ed Robinson. I've recorded songs with artist such as Shalom, Jah Teff, Sugar Minnott and Love Joy just to name a few. My vision is to bring positive music to the people and to inspire and touch as many lives as the almighty will allow me to. It's just Peace, Love, Unity, and Righteousness all the time. Equal rights and justice to one and all. ~ONE LOVE~
