By age 9 he and his childhood friend established a soundsystem named KING IRIE and they collected a large variety of vinyl from the Studio1 era up to the 90's . This is also when he first picked up the mic, on his own sound! His chief influences in life are his mumz, H.I.M., and all people who are either on or seeking the path of consciousness. Some of his musical influences include the likes of Dennis Brown, Percy Sledge, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Heptones, The Wailers, Beres Hammond, Culture and the list goes on. He mostly identifies himself with veteran artist who sing soul and roots rock reggae. Fyahstone's vintage and slight singj pattern is a force to be wreckoned with. Fans are always entranced at his performances. The ladies ofcourse also enjoy his voice to great delight. He however is not carried away by the recognition he receives. Instead he sees it as a way to use his talent to uplift the downtrodden and afflicted. To be a speaker and voice for the poor and have nots. To give an insight into his legitimacy vocally, it is known that he has shared the stage with acts likes Junior Ried, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Ras Shiloh, Sammy dread, Terry Ganzie, Spragga Benz, Cocoa Tea, Sizzla, Richie spice, Johnny Osbourne and many other music icons. Some of whom were his mentors along the way. His lifetime mentor, Haile Selassie I is a very fundamental part of his musical compilations. HIS MAJESTY to him represents upliftment, prosperity, victory, zeal, and ancient divinity among other things. He often reflects on the ideals of Haile Selassie I and HIS ability to remain grounded and focused in the face of adversity. As Haile Selassie I counselled his people and gave Afrikans a sense of pride and cultural awareness, Fyahstone is well on his way to emulating the standards of one of history's most prolific figures of all times. This artist's ultimate desire is to see humanity living in one accord irrespective of language, accent, style, tradition, class, creed or race.
