About Me

Artifact is from Stavanger, Norway, and plays goth-influenced rock and metal that combine loud and angry guitars with electronic elements. Our inspirations include NIN, Rob Zombie, The Sisters of Mercy and Depeche Mode.

Artifact released their debut album "The Only Salvation" May 9th in Europe and June 10th in the US.
Press Quotes:
"Any one of the eleven tracks evolves into a potential club hit for the dark dancefloors on this planet. There's amazingly many emotions in the songs that are offering a nearly perfect balance between electronic sounds and gothic rock/metal. A fantastic album, one only wants to close the eyes, forget the world around and dream."
EMP Magazine (summer issue 2008)
„This band really has a lot to offer. They manage it to tastefully spice their synthetic song structures with crisp metal riffs and an attractive combination of emotional, clean vocals and sinister growls. The ballads "Senseless" and "Scapegoated & Demonized" will let you melt away."
HEAVY Magazine (05/08)
„Artifact don't stick to genre stereotypes, and this is what makes this band so strong. You see, it's actually possible to make industrial metal without sounding staccato 24/7. „The Only Salvation“ is rather dynamic industrial goth metal than dull electro rock, and these Scandinavians are absolutely a safe bet."
SONIC SEDUCER (05/08)
"Brisk winds from Norway: Stavanger's Artifact unleash an exciting mixture. They blend elements from gothic, industrial, rock and metal, add a big scoop of individuality and put huge, catchy melodies on top. Artifact are one of the most talented newcomer bands I've heard in a long time. Must-have!"
ZILLO Magazine (05/08), Album of the Month
"If one gets involved with Artifact, one will experience an enjoyable surprise: the band sounds totally laid-back – and absolutely professional. Their machine beat doesn't trample like Golem but is very well progammed, Tor Arne's vocals are multi-layered and charismatic, and between the shredding riffs the band involved flashing, beeping pieces that give the whole thing the final shape."
METAL HAMMER (06/08)
"The rocking mix of gothic metal, electro, wave and remarkable, deep vocals which partly remind of Pete Steele sounds respectably well composed and varied. Within the musical intersection between Type 0 Negative, Paradise Lost, Rammstein, Sisters Of Mercy and Samael, Artifact managed to involve a good amount of hooklines and melodies."
