BIO
Nadia Lowe is a singer/songwriter. She was born in Manchester, UK. After early years spent in Jamaica, she returned to her birthplace. She began teaching herself the guitar when she was 15, after hearing Alanis Morrisette and Sheryl Crow. She has however been influenced by a lot more than '90s girl singer songwriter types.
Eventually she began to fuse the musical influences of her roots into her songs. Jamaica gave her reggae, ska, blues and country. Manchester gave her rock and indie and a spell at Durham University gave her acoustic and folk. Electro and dance came from not being able to drive and sitting in her twin brother's car! She just can't resist a good genre when she hears one.
When her repertoire reached two hundred songs, she figured she should do something with them. In February - March 2007 she recorded part of a reggae album in Jamaica with Delroy Walker, drums (Manchester, UK) and Brutus Richards, lead guitar (Port Antonio, Jamaica). This project will be completed when she returns to Jamaica next year.
In 2007 she provided guest vocals to 'Hurricane' by San San (dance/electro). All the proceeds from the sale of this single went to the victims of Hurricane Dean in Jamaica.
Nadia Lowe has just released in the UK a four song acoustic EP called 'ONE'. A full length studio album is planned for the near future. The EP is available to buy now at (www.indiestore.com/tridentrecords)
