About Me

Future Prospects is the brainchild of local DJ/producer Decksi a.k.a. Paranoid Edge. In 2001, within Melbourne’s burgeoning drum and bass scene, there seemed to be only a few select established DJ’s earning gigs and accolades. The time was right for a new crew, specifically aimed at assisting fresh, up and coming DJ’s to share the stage with Melbourne’s finest.
Under his DJ moniker of Decksi, Paranoid Edge began Future Prospects. Residents included a few already known DJ’s such as the Mixtress (Subvert) and Kamehameha, and at every gig he invited a few unknowns to join the ranks and be heard. Future Prospects helped to elevate the status of such DJ’s as Dust (Elementz), Quick, Kilroc and BLX, along with MC’s JC and Hastee (K-Oscillate). These individuals are now well known in the dnb scene and have gone from strength to strength in their chosen field. Future Prospects had succeeded in offering fresh talent to the community.
Future Prospects also had the pleasure of playing alongside other crews such as My Left Booty, whose regulars included TomTom (Tru Live), Farmer Suitical and Bass Bin Laden.
The last gig Future Prospects held was at the Laundry in January 2003. Shortly after, there was an influx of DJ’s into the Melbourne dnb scene, allowing Future Prospects the opportunity for a well earned hiatus. The time has come to now renew the search for fresh talent.
