Luca Madonna was born in 1972 in Rome. Since he is very young, he approaches the music world listening to the 60s hit parades his mother was listening during her house works. When he is 14, he starts playing guitar proposing pieces of Italian famous singers. Fascinated by this instrument, he decides to learn by himself how to play it and he reaches a quite good level. But his true passion is singing and he decides to follow his instinct and he starts writing songs. At 18 years, he founds his first group, the “Rock Art” and he starts singing in the stages of public places, making live experience. In the meanwhile, he keeps on writing songs and he takes part to the selections of “Passport to Sanremo” (a local contest for emergent groups and young songwriters) with his song “you & I”. Unfortunately, in spite of the success of criticism, it doesn’t succeed to the selections and his group wavers. At the same time, he continues writing songs but in the meanwhile the group breaks up and he is forced to continue alone. When he is 24, there is the possibility of a good job in the Northern Italy, 700 km far away from home. Discouraged and under the constant psychological pressure of the family, which has never supported his passion or better it was an obstacle to it, he accepts against his will to leave and his adventure with the music suddenly interrupts. For a while, with some local musicians, in particular Giorgio Perini, a qualified percussionist graduate at the music school, with whom he writes two songs “God doesn’t live with me” and “Tomorrow”. He tries to propose his pieces, but the economic difficulties and the familiar situation prevents him to continue. Therefore he decides to stop for a long period until 2002, when he writes in one go “Thoughts in the wind” and he is selected for the semi-final of Castrocaro Terme. He takes the course “from monody to technical performances of the contemporary artist” with the teacher Elio Polizzi and he obtains a good placing but he doesn’t arrive to the final. Then he writes “I am here for you” in the collaboration with F. Calamusa and he arrives with him to final selections of Montecatini Terme festival. In 2003 he is again at Castrocaro festival with the song “Now that you are there” and he takes another course of the teacher Polizzi “Musical, cinema and television techniques notions for the contemporary artist”. The song obtains a good success of the criticism but also this time the final vanishes. In 2004 he founds the acoustic duo “The outside brain” with the guitarist Renzo Salvatori and he goes around in the bars of Rome and province proposing his pieces and rearranged covers in acoustic (for a period of two years he collaborates with their guitarist Alfredo Gargaro who decides to carry on other collaborations). From 2005-2006 he attends the S. Louis school of Rome studying harmony and singing with M. Grazia Fontana and he attends the gospel course of the school. Then he records “Morgana”, a pop-electronic song and play a video, visited on You tube. In July 2006 he meets the sing teacher De Grossi Antonella, with whom he is following his studies. Now he is collaborating in the composition of new songs with the jazz guitarist Simone Galassi.

Luca Madonna nasce a Roma nel 1972 già da giovanissimo si avvicina al canto ascoltando i successi anni 60 che la mamma sentiva durante le faccende domestiche A 14 anni comincia a strimpellare la chitarra riproponendo brani italiani di battisti e simili. Affascinato da questo strumento inizia a studiarlo meglio proseguendo da autodidatta e raggiungendo un discreto livello. Ma la sua vera passione e’il canto e decide di seguire il suo istinto e inizia a scrivere canzoni. A 18 anni fonda il suo primo gruppo i “Rock Art” e con loro inizia a calcare i palchi di piazze sagre e simili facendo esperienza live. Nel frattempo però continua a scrivere canzoni e con un suo brano “Io e te” partecipa alle selezioni di” passaporto per san remo” un concorso locale per gruppi emergenti e giovani cantautori. Purtroppo pur avendo un buon successo di critica non passa le selezioni finali e il suo gruppo vacilla. Continua parallelamente a scrivere brani ma il gruppo si scioglie e lui e’ costretto a continuare da solo. A 24anni il bivio c’e’ la possibilità di un buon posto di lavoro in trentino una regione a nord dell’ Italia a 700 km da casa. Preso dallo sconforto e sotto la costante pressione psicologica della famiglia (che non aveva mai sostenuto la sua passione anzi la ostacolava in tutti i modi) accetta suo malgrado di partire e li la sua avventura con la musica si interrompe bruscamente.. Per un periodo collabora con alcuni musicisti locali in particolare con Perini Giorgio percussionista diplomato al conservatorio con cui scrive 2 brani “Dio non abita con me” e il “Domani”. Prova a proporre i suoi pezzi ma le difficoltà economiche e la sua situazione famigliare gli impediscono di continuare. Decide di fermarsi per un lungo periodo fino al 2002 quando scrive di getto “Pensieri nel vento” e viene selezionato per le semifinali di Castrocaro Terme. Segue il corso “Dalla monodia alle performance tecniche dell’artista contemporaneo”con il maestro Ellio Polizzi e ottiene un buon piazzamento ma non raggiunge la finale. In seguito scrive in collaborazione con F. Calamusa “Io sono qui x te” e arriva in finale in coppia al festival di Montecatini Terme. Nel 2003 e’ di nuovo al festival di Castrocaro con il brano “adesso che ci sei” e partecipa ad un altro corso del maestro Polizzi “ Tecniche – nozioni – musicali - cinematografiche e televisive per l’artista dei nostri giorni ”. Il brano ottiene un buon successo di critica ma anche questa volta la finale sfuma... Nel 2004 fonda il duo acustico the Outsidebrain con il chitarrista Renzo Salvatori e gira nei locali di Roma e provincia proponendo i suoi brani e cover arrangiate in acustico (per un periodo di circa due anni collabora con loro il chitarrista Alfredo Gargaro che poi decide di proseguire in altre collaborazioni). Dal 05-06 frequenta la S. Luois di Roma studiando armonia e canto con M. Grazia Fontana e frequenta il corso gospel della scuola. Successivamente incide” Morgana” un brano pop-elettonico e gira un video visitatissimo su You Tube. A luglio 2006 conosce l’insegnante di canto De Grossi Antonella con cui sta proseguendo gli studi. Attualmente sta collaborando nella stesura di nuovi brani con il chitarrista jazz Galassi Simone.
