" I love TLC to Destiny's CHild even to Whitney Houston; to me they are remarkable examples of wonderful women in music who have success and passionate strength in being fearless at what they love, music. I know that it is hard especially for women to establish themselves in this business, yet, I also believe that with hard work comes acknowledgements and respect. These women, amongst many others, have paved the way for young aspiring artist such as myself and the girls; to be free to sing of how you feel and of what you believe. I think that is awesome! "My influences come from my family and all entertainers on the radio. I am always anxious to hear someone's story to a beat and a percussion. Music is my influence! I listened to every artist in every genre from Whitney Houston to Aerosmith. Being open to different music is important,it shows strength and artistry. Now I dont think too much sets us apart from the next female group because every artist wants success, but I will say when you dedicate your whole being and sacrifice all of yourself for what you want then you are the best. Our mission isnt to be on every red carpet; we want to sell records, platinum records. We want our 1 singles and albums in the 1 spot on Billboards. We want to work hard doing it. "I grew up listening to Chaka Kahn and Mariah Carey. I was that girl who was always in the mirror singing and dancing as if I was on that record. I learned how to sing from the radio, {laughing} from mimicking entertainers on the tv sreen. I learned how to write by listening to Kenneth"Babyface" Edmonds, Missy Elliott, Brian Michael Cox, Dianne Warren, Johnta Austin, Tricky Stewart, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis plus many more. I studied their composition. I studied the craft. I will say all around Music is my influence.Me hearing a Lauren Hill track would jump start my day and me falling asleep to a Boyz II Men ballad ended my night. I found music to be my escape.
