About Me

Poet-turned-lyricist-turned-songwriter-and-performer...with band (guitar, bass, drums, violin, flute) and solo (acoustic). From Calcutta, India to Reno, Nevada to Athens, Georgia to the Mississippi Delta (Leland/Stoneville), and currently stationed in Huntsville, Alabama, my life has been quite interesting thus far. And am soaking it all in.Affiliated with ASCAP (writer, and publisher – Ban Brothers Publishing), NSAI (coordinator/founder of two workshop chapters), NARAS (voting member, Nashville Chapter), SongU (member), JPF (member). I love to collaborate and am always looking for such opportunities, because successful collaboration makes my music diverse by entering otherwise uncharted territories.I have a penchant for photography/videography and making music for TV/movies. Check out my videos (including my debut movie score) at the link "videos" under my main picture. For more songs and stuff, please visit my SongU member site at www.songu.com/members/ban. If you are influenced to join that fabulous club of aspiring and professional songwriters, please mention my name (Ban) to them. Thanks!

Influences: Indian/World/Pop/Rock/Top 40/Country/Folk/Blues/R&B/any music that touches my heart or is worth getting influenced by!!! I have many influences, really, hard to list, but Rob Thomas / Matchbox Twenty is a BIG one!!! However, all of these are probably more of an inspiration than influences. From time to time, I've been told that my music resembles that of such diverse artists as George Harrison, Judi Collins, Johnny Lee Hooker, and The Monkees.
Sounds Like: Me, I guess!:)
