Following the summer hiatus, the record-breaking variety programme Showtime has returned in style this year. Those of you who have become accustomed to Showtime's spectacular recipe of entertainment will not be disappointed while several new features have been included to add spice to the mix.This time around, Showtime has a brand new set and a bigger band boasting some of Malta's finest singers as residents. These include Glen Vella, Leontine, Louisanne Bugeja Tate, Pamela Bezzina and Vittorio Gauci. Apart from that, each episode features live musical entertainment from some of Malta's hottest acts. Musical guests in the first couple of weeks include Ira Losco, Bitterside, Scream Daisy, Nadine Axisa, and Indigo to name but a few.Also new for Showtime is the day on which it will be broadcast as well as the channel itself. For the first time ever, Showtime has moved to Friday night and is airing on One TV. Starting from 8:25pm until 11pm, an extra half-hour of pure entertainment has also been added to the show.Speaking of new elements to Showtime, one cannot neglect to mention Angele Galea, the bubbly new presenter with a contagious smile who is keeping Manuel company from now on. Also new to Showtime are several new competitions on an epic scale that are bound to have you glued to the television for several weeks to come. These include Show me you can Dance, which will be aiming to find the island's top dancer and Opportunity Model which will see a group of some of Malta's most stunning young women competing to see which of them has what it takes to be awarded the top prize.Apart from that, Showtime viewers are being dazzled by dance displays from the Aceline Dancers and the various guest Dance Companies and Dance Schools, and casual interviews with some of Malta's most interesting and accomplished people. Also on the show is the hilarious comic element thanks to several side-splitting segments provided by the multi-talented Malcolm Galea.Friday the 5th October has marked the return of Showtime and its initiation to Friday nights and the One TV schedule.
