Guillermo "Willie" de Endaya started his musical adventure at the age of 14 with the guitar of his brother Gorka, who initiated him in the musical world, making his first performance some months later using the thrilling sum of five chords in a total of two songs. Thereafter came many hours of musical study, auto didactically as well as at the Conservatory of Music in Leioa, Bizkaia. He founded several bands, of which “De Momento†with Txarlie Solano on bass was the most remarkable, and started to play his own compositions on gigs in the local area.
He was contemporarily the drummer/ percussionist of the “Big Band Bilbao†for over three years in which he shared stage with some soloists of the “Bilbao Symphonic Orchestraâ€.
In 1990 he moved to Freiburg, Germany where he founded the “Willie Endaya Band†and started writing his lyrics in English.
At the same time he performed solo in clubs and pubs playing a vast repertoire of pop, blues, rock and jazz standards.
He also was part of the group “Distant friendsâ€, with Klaus Hendler, as a guitar and cajón player and drum programmer, and recorded with them the album “At the end of the day†that was released in 1997. In 1996 he joined Paul Morocco’s international award-winning music-comedy group “Olé!†(http://www.olecomedy.com), with which he has performed in dozens of countries of Europe, America and Asia including the most prestigious comedy festivals in the world, such as Edinburgh, Montreal and Singapore. In this group he had the pleasure to work with great artists such as the mentioned Paul Morocco, Antonio Forcione (guitar), Marcial Heredia (guitar), Antonio Gómez (guitar), Ramón Ruiz (guitar), Anita "La Maltesa"(flamenco dance), Leonor Moro (Flamenco dance) y Miguel Sotelo (flamenco guitar) among others harvesting great satisfactions and success.
