About Me

Umm... yea... bass.

Ok, just trust me. Take my advice on this one. Run, don't walk to the Millsted myspace page, find the link, download and buy the track "Dirty Elvis." Don't stop to think about it, just do it. Starting off with a freaking dynamite bass hook, Millsted drive this baby through so many areas of modern indy rock, I lost count. Draped with a subtle vocal, framed with stuttering, shimmering guitar, this song rocks like some funky Britrock, punk, ska, indy rock hybrid all the way to the neo-hardcore chorus breakdown. In short, "Dirty Elvis," is about as infectious as the ebola virus and a lot more fun to catch. - www.ripplemusic.blogspot.com

The insanely flagrant Millsted (I tell you: See them live. Nothing like it) slammed the stage with an intense ambrosia of Alternative Rock's polygamous marriage to Nu metal and Punk. Their majesty called for much head banging and thrashing. I will never forget what they feel like live. Ever. - purplezoe.blogspot.com

MuthaWit 's former bassist, Samuel Fernandez, is not a founding member of the band Millsted but the lower frequency tones that he brings to the outfit is raising the level of their work to new heights. These upper Manhattan and Bronx rockers hit the stage displaying precise aggression, punk arrogance and ironic sweetness that captivated the audience. Millsted is one of those hybrid bands in the URB ALT tradition that is difficult to describe in terms of their music. It's rock. It's metal. It's Latin grooves. It's soul. It's screamo. It's punk. It's Millsted . Check them out when they're near you. - Boston Fielder, URB ALT

Millsted , based in New York, have a new album titled “Um … Yea” out this year, which also happens to be exactly the response I get from our own fearless leader Kip when I pitch the idea of a Jonas Brothers interview for the site. Turns out the preteen Disney crowd isn’t our readership base - who knew? Millsted , though, should fit right in - accomplished musicianship, jazz roots, punk attitude. Pop this sucker on your iPod in case a sudden development necessitates that you need your NYC groove on immediately. - Keath, Rock Sellout
