Telstarstudio is a recording studio in munich/germany for all kinds of music.
Since 1996 a lot of bands have recorded there. The most famous are "The Arctic Monkeys", who recorded "Mardy Bum" from their first album (hear below). Other british bands like "The Rakes" or "The Cribs" were also there. The german band "Sportfreunde Stiller" recorded their first demo in 1997. But Telstarstudio is not only a studio for rockmusic. In twelve years a lot of different styles have been recorded, like electronic music, hip hop, latin music, film music etc.
The founder Christian Höck is half french, half german. He is musician (www.myspace.com/phonoboy), composer, producer and sound engineer in one person.
His partner Andy Bayr is also a singer and very well experienced in producing music.
Telstarstudio was first an analogue studio, but is meanwhile also using a digital system (Pro Tools). Always trying to get the best out of each technique. But it is still possible to do a pure analogue recording. We 're using a Trident 75 Mixing desk, equal to what David Bowie used in times of "Hunky Dory". Also Lenny Kravitz worked with Trident desks for his first albums.
But technique is not that important for us. As long as the music sounds good and we get the feeling out of it, we are happy.
