events list and news and on the haps of the houma area, updated as often as possible for yr pleasure. keep the scene alive and together. we're all friends here.
promoting shows in yr area is not limited to the bands that play them -- we can all do our part to support this scene and to make shows successful. make flyers, print them out, put them up, and go. this place isn't about who's got the biggest holes in their ears, or the most illegible deathcore-font-bandname-design. this is a community, the town we are growing up in;;; let's make this place somewhere that we want to stay for a couple more years instead of taking our shoes off, laying on the couch, and basking in reverie about how we can't wait to get out of here.
if you've got news, i want to hear it. if you have space in your living room, i want to have a show on it. if you've got ideas, i'm a wall bounce them off me.
THINGS TO KNOW
august fourth:
the band's called this is my suitcase, from columbus ohio. the idea is to bring them down here, and there's a fund somewhere to help that cause. we all know the price of gas -- i'll go on the record to say i would pay ten a gallon to get these guys down here. here's a fun scenario: i'm a priest, and you just gave me your confession. some crazy fucked up shit you did, and now it's penance-time. give money to joe to get down here, and wear yr best shirt to the show. here's a flyer -- repost:
august fifth:
all things about mainstream aside for one second, folks. if you do one thing right this year, go to this hellhole on august 11th. come watch me cry my eyes out on stage as we collectively say goodbye to fire at the empire. if you bring me a tissue to wipe my eyes and nose, i'll give you a nickel, no joke. also playing are some great friends: roseline, monsters on maple street, one breath from eternity, and the lovely fight between frames. wear pants that won't rip when you get loooo0o0o0w, grab a shovel, and come bury my band with me.
