Floating Worlds

About Me

Everything started around 1998. Andreas V was trying to find a way, to express his great love for music, and to fullfill his unstoppable desire to create music. For a period of time, he was trying to find, which musical instrument best fited his needs, abilities, and visions, for musical expression and creation. Finally, financial problems, faith, luck, and a teacher, who was teaching him chemistry, at that period of time, led him, to the "guitar world"... After some attempts to form some groups, that failed for different reasons, he joined a band, members of which was his friend Vagelis Lekos, his cousin George Papadakis, and Aris Loumakis. Soon enough, for various reasons, only Andreas V, Vagelis Lekos and Aris Loumakis, stayed to the band, later to be called, "Snakes". Even though, the band was close to what Andreas V wanted to achieve, problems in daily schedule, and different opinions in the way the band should evolve, led Andreas V and V.Lekos, to the decision that they could no longer, keep on with A.Loumakis. They decided to form a new band, with Themis Thomopoulos, on the drums, instead of A.Loumakis, and despite the fact, that in the beggining, they planned to follow the classic lineup with two guitarists and V.Lekos on the bass guitar and vocals, they finally decided to follow a more atmospheric and melodic path, and add to their lineup, instead of a second guitarist, a keyboard player. So they cooperated with Orestis Diamantaras. After a lot of failed attempts, in trying to record properly their first tracks, T.Thomopoulos met out of the blue, one day at the subway, an old friend of Andreas V. and T.Thomopoulos, Aris Schizas, who had almost finished his studies as a recording and mixing engineer at that period of time. After a brief discussion, A.Schizas volunteered to help "Floating Worlds", to record their debut album, and "Floating Worlds", would record in exchange, a track of their own with A. Schizas, in order for him, to present it, as his final degree project in recording and mixing, to his university. That was the deal... From that moment, everything took slowly, sometimes very slowly but steadily, the way to the fullfilment of the goal. V.Lekos couldn't be anymore, part of the band, due to the different way of life he decided to follow, and his different personal musical visions, and after a lot of attempts, failures, and experiments, and with the addition of two new members at the vocals, Marina Satti and Leonidas Fassoulas, the "dream" Andreas V had, finally came true... The first record "Only A Dream, Can Kill A Dream..." is now ready, with nine tracks, that cover heavy metal, rock and a bit of soundtrack music. Floating Worlds are looking for a record label at the time beeing, in order to publish their record.
