All too often, children fall through the cracks of this overextended child welfare system, and do not receive the individualized attention they deserve. Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers are people from the community, like you and me, who care enough about abused and neglected children to Speak Up on their behalf in court.

8,500 Children in Allegheny County are involved with the Children’s Court. Of these, 4,500 are living in foster care because they face imminent abuse and neglect at home. In 2008 CASA advocated for nearly 400 children. We currently have 70 CASA kids waiting for an assigned advocate to Speak Up for them and to help them Grow. These CASA kids are waiting for the personalized attention they can get from an advocate volunteer. Join us at an Open House to learn how you can become a Court Appointed Special Advocate [CASA].

Together We Will Make A Difference

"I am a CASA and I love it. The staff is wonderful and the training is extensive. The work is fantastically rewarding. It takes a little bit more of your time than I anticipated, but it is worth every minute I spend when you get results and you can tell that you are helping. I would recommend this experience to anyone and everyone."-Helen
