Hey. My name is Tim Young. I'm a premed student with a minor in music theory. I absolutely love music. I am a pretty good guitarist, bassist, drummer, vocalist, but some day i will be a FANTASTIC guitarist. I've been diligently playing guitar for about 8 years and I have thourough knowledge of music theory, scales, arpeggios, and best of all I'm right-brained, so I have the ablility to piece together.
My biggest influences musically are Between the Buried and Me (Paul Waggoner is awesome), Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Opeth, Born of Osiris, some Slayer and Metallica, Carlos Santana, The Faceless, Arsis, Extol Children of Bodom, and ZAO.
Beyond that I'm just an ordinary dude, with extra-ordinary features and hyper-ordinary friends. I'm solid, a really chill guy. I'm into death metal, grind, classical, classically influenced metal, technical music of all kinds, and I have a secret love for the violin and the saxophone. I'm into pop, rock, pop-rock, jazz, blues, spanish guitar, flamenco, great piano, great guitar, intricate drumming, bass, religious, non-religious, sacriligious, and any other type of music you can imagine.
... I guess not all music. But I try to appreciate everything by giving each band five minutes (or five songs of scanning) that's my rule of thumb for getting a feel of other music. because there's a whole lot out there and i just don't have time to listen to every song all the way through, i only have time to be interested in a few at a time and move on... but i do try to give everything an honest chance and i stick by what i like... which is admired by some...
